This place really is a hidden gem! Espeshally if you wasn't to go to the zoo! The site that the lodging is on actually has a large trail system on the property, a delishious dinner and breakfast is provided and the lodging is great! The value is spot on and affordable too! Only a short walk to the zoo or... More

We stayed a forest Cabaña which just a few steps from the shared bathroom facilities and dining hall. The cabins are beautifully maintained and equipped with fans and electrical outlets. Tarp roofs and 4 walls made of mosquito screening allow you to hear all the interesting sounds of the jungle after dark. Breakfast and dinner of basic Belizean fare, unlimited... More

The location of lodging at Belize Zoo is actually not at the Zoo, but rather across the street at Tropical Education Center (TEC). The Zoo’s website is a little confusing about the lodging as we thought the lodging was in the zoo… It’s not. Lodging is at the TEC across the street from the Zoo. If driving west on the... More

Landing in Belize City, and not wanting to stay in the City (who does?), a great place to hang out is at the Tropical Education Center (TEC) better known as staying at the Belize Zoo. They picked us up at the airport for a reasonable fee ($60US). The TEC is actually just down the road from the zoo. Stay in... More

It is well worth spending a night at the zoo lodge to really get the most out of it. We visited the zoo in the daytime (you can leave luggage for free in the lockers in reception), then had a stroll on one of the trails around the lodge, followed by dinner and a night-tour of the zoo. Then the... More

We stayed our last night in Belize at the Jungle Lodges. wish we would have had more time. The Jungle house and the pond house our friends stayed in were roomy and comfortable. Hard to explain but sleeping in the jungle when you are from the desert is a wonderful experience. Room was inexpensive came with dinner and breakfast. We... More

My family of four stayed in one of the pond houses for one night between the jungle and island portion of our Belize vacation. They provide dinner and breakfast in a buffet in a common dining area. The guests are a combination of tourists and researchers working at the zoo which makes for interesting conversations. The pond house had a... More

after a long day of travel, drive 30-40 min to the Zoo, spend the nt in the dorm-like guesthouse ($30 pp) or one for their funky, a bit rustic cabanas. Have a DELICIOUS DINNER then set out for the amazing Nocturnal tour!!: it just you, a guide, a bucket of chicken guts & a flashlight--and you go around "putting the... More

We spent our first night in Belize at the zoo and it was such a great adventure! We stayed in one of the pond houses which was so cool. It's rustic for sure but we went to Belize for an adventure. It has a comfortable bed, a bathroom, fans and a screened in porch where you can sit and listen... More

We stayed for one night in a two person cabana and did the night tour while there. The cabana was really clean, had electricity and had a luxury camping feel. Dinner and breakfast were great and cooked by friendly locals. It's mostly veterinary volunteers but they are all friendly and create a camp ground atmosphere. They will drive you to... More
