Absolutely fantastic. I would rate this as our best bush camping experience to date. We booked a Wilderness site - 'the rapids' and it was just beautiful. only the sound of the rapids and the birds. Having a fire and access to wood was sensational. Sharon was just delightful - genuine and helpful and remembered our names. Unfortunately we only... More

Hayley and I stumbled across this beautiful place during a recent road trip with our young family. We found it Enchanting, Clean and a real Eco Aussie bush experience. We loved the private camping next to the River and an early morning swim in The Clarence. Our stay this time was regrettably short but we will defiantly be back again... More

If you are looking for something special for a few days serious chill, then this is it. A magnificent location, right on the banks of the Clarence River. This is the head waters of the biggest river on the east coast and it is a real wilderness with tall timber and steep gorges with pockets of remanent rainforest. The river... More

The bushman huts are cozy and have a great wilderness feel and look, complete with nice little balconies to chill out in and watch the surrounds. As for the surrounds, they are picturesque. The river runs nearby, there are cliff faces with rock wallabies, waters with platypus (gotta wake up in Platypus Standard Time to see them!) and multiple hike/bush-walk... More

It's the wilderness. That line became a bit of an inside joke early on in our trip. The website clarifies how long and what the roads are like if you're coming from nsw, but not if you're coming from Brisbane. It's 22km of gravel road, and about 14k of that involves rocks the size of my hand (I do have... More

Thank you for your feedback. We try to portray the Clarence River Wilderness lodge as accurately as we can on our website and marketing. The road conditions are the thing most commented on by our guests and we have tried to address this by stating on our website "the road is steep and rough in places and suitable only for... More

We travelled there with a group of friends and having no camping gear we decided to GLAMP it and stayed in the Cabin 8 berth, we had 2 adults and 3 kids. The cabin was ideal for us we had our own room and kids had their own room with 2 double bunks. For the price of the 8 berth... More

Sharon and Steve were very helpful, even giving us some fuel as we were on bikes and had some way to go for fuel. Could not get more hospitable genuine people. The place is very idyllic. Bit hard to get to but that is half the joy I guess. Accommodation is basic but clean and all good for the price.... More
