I stayed at the beginning of November and after reading the reviews i had been excited about staying at Sugar Ridge but during my whole stay i kept feeling let down mostly due to the attention to detail. It should be fabulous but little niggles kept letting the place down. Some of the staff are friendly some of them are... More

We had a week at sugar ridge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is situated with some fantastic views and in an area with fantastic beaches and local restaurants. I'd strongly advise against the all inclusive package as the local restaurants are superb. Miracles, Ojs, Dennis', Shells all offer great local food at terrific prices. Sugar Ridge is a fantastic... This is either a business hotel in a tropical setting,or a beach hotel nowhere near a beach. If you know there are beach resorts- the reason you've flown all this way-- just over there down the road and around the bend, you'll be asking yourself why you are here, landlocked in a very modern place with a pool facing the... Sugar ridge is the top standard resort located on the hill. Everything is well maintained, very clean, net gardens. People are very friendly always greeting with smile. Every 2 days they have mosquito control so we don't really have trouble from the mosquito bites. And the restaurant located on the top of hill is so pretty. Fascinating sunset with infinity... More

1) Had to keep asking for toiletries; ended getting them ourselves from reception 2) Was told by Vorn not to get his jeep dirty with sand. He is nice if you talked to him in a certain way but what the hell? I am going to the beach, there will be sand and we like exploring 3) Waited 15 minutes... More

We were not staying at Sugar Ridge, but were booked into Carmichael's Restaurant there for dinner with our friends at the end of our sailing holiday from Jolly Harbour. It was a rainy evening in November, but what a spectacular view met us as we entered the restaurant. We looked over the whole harbour with its hundreds (thousands?) of yachts... More

Have to agree with a comment below, if you have the money to blow on a beachfront hotel with a high standard of accomodation, then you would rather than stay at sugar ridge. But, the Caribbean is expensive and Antigua is a pricey island. We deemed that as 2 people in our 30's a short walk now and then would... More

We stayed at Sugar Ridge from 27th October for 12 nights. As it was 'shoulder season' it was a bit quiet but this was perfect for us. Our 1st room (#46) had an excellent view across Jolly Harbour but had limited sunset view probably due to the time of year. We also had a few unwelcome visitors (tiny frogs!) so... More

My husband and I stayed at Sugar Ridge last week and took my mother in law for a holiday. The fact it wasn't on the 'cliche' beach and was built on an old sugar plantation surrounded by rain forest made it or the more different and interesting. This boutique hotel offered beautiful big rooms, all very private, great views and... More

I'll start off by saying that if you're considering Sugar Ridge for your Antigua stay, I will assume that there is a budgetary reason behind it. If you can make an extra stretch and go to a beachfront hotel, you probably should (Cocobay is a few minutes away and just breathtaking). If, however, you're fighting over the price/quality bump you... More
