We loved the Sugar Ridge and highly recommend it. Lovely grounds, amazing view, generally good service, great breakfast, wonderful pool setting, Had a few minor issues: 1) Some noise from the nearby main road which was unexpected, Also noise from a bar nearby; a jacuzzi that was on automatic so we heard gurgling noise in our room upstairs; and noise... This hotel has a lot of potential. The rooms and decor are quite nice and the view was spectacular. Going on a tip from Trip Advisor, we got a room on top of the hill. The food, on average was very good, and at times excellent. However the service had many glitches. For an island resort that is not right... More

Previous reviews were on target for the most part. Negatives were very limited menus (especially for vegetarians)- all inclusive plan would be disappointing; transport is in the back of a jeep; and they are stingy with beach towels which is totally inconsistent with the luxury atmosphere everywhere else. Positives include helpful staff, the infinity pool is exquisite, and the spa... More

We were looking for a quick getaway to the Carribean, and didn't want to spend the $7K-$8K we usually do for Viceroy or Cap Juluca in Anguilla for four nights. Sugar Ridge was on Jetsetter and Luxury Link for what seemed (and actually was) a bargain - 4 nights for $1350. We took the AI program which included all food (other... More

I was thrilled to discover that sugar ridge was everything I was expecting and more. I'd done a lot of research to find the right place and having spoken to other people and had a little look around, I'm convinced I got it right. This place has been so well designed. It's lovely and spacious, modern and clean. The rooms... More

I do not usually place comments about places I stay, however when things are exceptionally good or bad, I do feel the need to comment to make my fellow travelers aware. I do travel a lot for both work and pleasure so do consider myself somewhat knowledgeable about hotel accommodations. Unfortunately, my stay at Sugar Ridge was rather disappointing. The... More

This hillside resort has a great infinity pool at the top of the hill next to its upscale restaurant, Carmichael's. It often is empty so sometimes you can have it to yourself. Try it in the evening while watching the sunset over the Caribbean while sipping a drink from the bar at Carmichael's. There also is a 2-tiered pool (1... More

We are returning guests, were there at same time last year, you can see my review from last year as well. To sum it up I would say that the resort still delivers a top shelf experience and having been around the island a few times now I would say it is among the top three resorts in Antigua. What... As two of our many returning guests, we are delighted that like so many others your stay came up to and it would seem in many respects exceeded expectations. All reviews are circulated to each department head so those singled out for praise by you will be very appreciative. Your comments concerning a little slippage in terms of a couple... More

so disappointing - could be a lovely spot but then everywhere in Atigua is lovely; the service and staff got to be laughable: simple things like requests for restocking the minibar or room service ended up taking literally two days. Mind you, we are not demanding people, and usually roll with the punches. Having to go to the desk and... More

The whole team – management and staff were very concerned to read your comments. We strive to have an excellent team of staff who genuinely want to ensure that all guests at Sugar Ridge have a wonderful stay . So we are all saddened to read that your view is so jaded. Mini bars are stocked for arrival and then... More

Late Jan/ early Feb 2012. It rained every day we were there but it only stopped us sunbathing one day when it rained non stop. You do have to run in when it suddenlymstarts raining with little warning but it is mostly sunny. We stayed on the all inclusive rate. I would really recommend you go for the all inclusive,... More
