I stayed here 2 nights on my business trip. This is a basic level hotel in Brussels. Nice old building, good location near a metro station and a railway station are positive. Noisy rooms (thin walls) is negative. Free Wifi was fast.

We stayed 3 nights here early April 2015. The location is fantastic, right next to a train station so easy accessible from the airport. Metro station with 2mins walking distance. Grand place, and all main streets within about 10 minutes walk. Good safe feeling area too. The hotel itself, is old, but not in a bad way. It's a quirky... More

Arrived here last Monday for a one night stay for business, having arrived at the Eurostar. To me the hotel is tired, and could do with general modernisation, but I have to say it was clean throughout. The bed was comfortable - my only gripe was that the shower was very small, and also I could not find a plug... More

This hotel is great and is at a good location. Also it's close to the shopping centre. The room was great and so was the wifi. There are loads of restaurants around the hotel and a supermarket is near to buy any goodies. Also you get a mini fridge with your room.

I really just expect to have clean sheets and a shower that's hot. Until coming here I realised that I would actually quite like to have a kettle, hairdryer and perhaps a fridge. The room in other words, is baron. Bit of a smell about the place but actually it's perfectly acceptable. I'd stay elsewhere if these things bother you,... More

If you are on business but you know that you will have some spare time to use for your self, than this hotel woul be a good choice. We recently spent four nights at Hotel des Colonies and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and courteous when we needed them. We were offered the choice of room at the front or rear of the hotel, not having any particular preference we left the choice to the manager who allocated us a room on the... More

a good walking distance from major train stop coming from airport. location is good. basic room with a bed very old and dangerous deep bath tub. I would NOT stay here with small children. The carpet, elevator, and floors need major cleaning. Only good thing is location.

Before staying at Hotel des Colonies I was reading a lot of reviews and get there with minimal expectations. Fact is that the premises were much cleaner that I expected. Nevertheless, the furniture was quite old and the rooms, small. The breakfast, quite poor. But nothing to complain related to the personnel. I was treated OK, with respect and solicitude.... More

My partner and I stayed here for three nights in August as part of a coach party and as the trip was inexpensive, I guess you get what you pay for. The entrance is interesting with some lovely original features showing the age and history of the building. However, the reception staff left a lot to be desired. Hospitality is... More
