Situated near the route of the Camino this place oozes style a bygone era. Well decorated, food is delicious and best of all it is run by the owners who are passionate about what they do. Only issue is that I'm not staying longer. It had 12 rooms, with enchanted garden, pool, yes pool. Great place to discover the area... More

Let me begin by saying that this is potentially a great place. Potentially! A friend and I were passing through and needed a place to stay for one night so we reserved a room here. The town where it is located is not exactly a hot spot and we found Quinta das Alfaias only with the help of a very... More

This Quinta is a lovely place to stay a couple of days. The rooms are clean and spacious and Teresa and Juaun are wonderful hosts. The garden is beautiful and give you a lot of space to relax. There is also a nice pool. The beach is only 10 minutes away. Teresa is not only a good host, but also a... More

'Welcome to my home ' was the greeting from Joao as we arrived hot and dusty from our first day on the Camino Portuguese (we walked the coastal route, and cut inland at Vila Cha). We were made very welcome indeed. We stayed in an apartment at the top of the main house, reached by the beautiful double staircase to... More

I cannot praise Quinta das Alfaias highly enough. This is the perfect haven for a relaxing break not far from Porto ( we travelled by metro and short taxi ride) in delightful garden /estate surroundings with swimming pool. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and the decor of apartments , dining room and main house facilities is exceptionally tasteful. Sitting on... More

In Quinta das Alfaias (alfaias are small tools for agriculture) I arrived with an expectation of a country house with a green garden. When we entered the gate, and Mrs Teresa Pamplona welcomed us, we found a garden at a level of an aristocratic villa, cared by her husband Mr Joao. Tall and luxuriant trees, a large green and stones... More

Incredible Hospitality, Great Food, Beautiful Gardens. The hosts - husband and wife - are incredible. They really go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying your stay, get a real feel for Portugal, the culture, the food, the sites and cities you visit. We had dinner there twice - Bacalao is absolutely delish. The gardens are beautiful.... More

Given a very warm welcome by the owners and showned to a lovely self catering appartment with its own little balcony overlooking the wonderful gardens. Beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space for clothes etc. We were able to park the car off road. Couple of friendly dogs were always around to do the meet and... More

Well if you decide to book a hotel near an Airport you might reasonably expect to have Aircraft flying over/near the property ..well I might understand your surprise if you are familiar with underground airports where jets approach the airport in the sub-terrain. Anyway its a lovely family home that Teresa her husband and children have.Teresa works very hard to... More

Quintq Alfaias is a mansion built along the Brazilian idea. The rooms were very clean, with excellent views of the ample grounds and gardens. The breakfast area was loaded with antiques and items of interest. It was a great place to stay. The owner had very good suggestions about where to go and what to see in the area. A... More
