This is a delightful place, set in it's own grounds with fruit trees and vines and on the edge of the small village of Barroselos. Although the bedroom was small it was pleasant and the rest of the property made up for it. There was plenty of outside space, a beautiful swimming pool area, tennis courts, a music room, a library, pool table and bicycles for visitors use.

There is a station in the village and a regular train service to Viano do Castelo which we made use of. There was a festival on while we were there and the streets around Viano were closed so we decided to use the train.

There are few restaurants within walking distance but those that exist are very reasonable. Similarly the local bars; cheap compared with prices in Porto.

Definitely worth a visit. more
