Stayed here, May 2012,sadly only for 1 night. Good location to walk into town. We were going to have a Taxi back but walked easily. Great Pool, Gym and staff.. Breakfast staff could have been a little happier As with all 4* in Portugal bar prices could be a little lower.

This is a very modern and nice hotel with spa facilities and a large and well equipped gym. The location is a small drive outside the concentrated town center. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool and the latter is heated. The breakfast variety is small but sophisticated. Easy free parking in front of the hotel.

This hotel is fabulous - the facilities the rooms, the staff.

Excellent value for money. Rooms are perfect. Easy to reach once arriving by car from Porto. One minor point: the command of english language of the people at the reception could be improved.

The hotel is not in the centre of town but in some ways we preferred that as it was only a 10 minute walk along a direct route. We had river facing room and overlooked the outside pool area so quiet. A new, modern facility in a small Portuguese town. The Axis is a bit of a surprise. If you're scrolling through the hotel listings looking for something a bit more up-market, this is probably your best choice. Positives: it's new, so everything works. The rooms are nice, the restaurant has a good menu and reasonable prices, the staff is helpful.... More
