I was disappointed with the one night I spent on business at this hotel. It did not get off to a good footing when despite requesting a non-smoking room I was not able to obtain one. This hotel has many more smoking than non-smoking rooms and is one of the things I hate most about European hotels. To be fair... more

I was not impressed until I upgraded (+14€ per night) to an oceanfront room. The hotel itself is quite average... more

Sited 25km or so from Porto we spent the rest of the week here after staying in central Porto. The whole resort area is built up but does still have its old town and the Coastal areas National Park are only a day trip away. The hotel appears to have its 4 stars simply because of the services they offer... more

I know that Novotel is a large chain, but it was a huge building - A 12 floor (+ meeting room floors) concrete monstrocity and totally soul-less, similar to a Travel Lodge in the UK. However, it was clean and the staff were friendly. The area is known a the Costa Verde or Green Coast, and we were told that... more

We spent Easter at the hotel. I read the reviews before travelling but i was still uncertain if the hotel was a good choice. I have to say that the hotel has been great, specially travelling with children and a rented car. The reviews about the room size were confusing for me. My room was spacious enough for 2 adults... more

We just got back form a great weekend and this hotel. The hotel was MUCH better then we thought. Location wise it's perfect, right on the beach with a private access for hotel guests. We rented a car and parking was easy. The rooms are pretty large, and the bathroom large too. It isn't a 5* hotel , but then... more

Location great. Just cross promenade to get to beach. Promenade extends to downtown area. Easy to find when entering city from outskirts & plenty of parking at entrance to high-rise hotel. Had average size room with king sized bed. "Functional" well used furnishings, simply decorated, & modest sized bathroom. Large clean swimming pool. Restaurant offers only A la Carte menu... more

This hotel was nothing like as bad as the previous reviewer claimed! Good service all round, a very good value-for-money room, and a joy to find a hotel offering just quiet and unobtrusive value at a good price. In town, the dogs' mess was certainly not a problem - no worse than anywhere in the UK, and the promenade along... more

The hotel is stuck in a nasty high rise corner of a tacky seaside resort that is like a scaled down version of Benidorm without the determination to party and stay up late. (Also, it must be said, without the groups of drunken Brits, Dutch and Germans that you find on the Costas.) But this town is so cheesey that... more
