Enjoyed our stay at this friendly guest house, where the staff were diligent and helpful (full of recommendations for sites and restaurants. The location is perfect - an easy walk to Palacio da Bolsa, Igreja da Sao Fransisco, the lively Ribeira district (waterfront) and the pedestrian bridge (Ponte de Dom Luis), which takes you over to the wine cellars across... The name of the Cale Guest House suggests that it wants to be your home from home in Porto: it has the right idea, but it falls short. The house itself is a restored merchant’s home in the centre of the old town; our enormous room had views over the rooftops towards the port wine lodges on the far bank... More

And so close to everything. We arrived at fiesta unknown to ourselves, and what a party. Fabulous day. Cale Guest House is small but the rooms are lovely. We had a back room with its own terrace with table and chairs, really pretty. You could also use the top terrace, the fireworks were really good from there if you couldn't... More

We werent sure if we would find the Cale Guest house easily if we took the train. We were coming from France and had quite a bit of luggage. I called the guest house and asked could they organise someone to pick us up. The man I dealt with on the phone was very professional and helpful. He also spoke... More

Very friendly staff, with attention for detail. Old house completely renovated and beautifully decorated. Modern minimalistic furniture, very clean bathroom. The house is perfectly located in a safe neighborhood. Everything is within walking distance to visit Porto

We spent 3 nights in this guesthouse. The room was clean and big with a nice bathroom and terrace, the wifi fast. A big drawback though was the darkness in the room and the humidity of the walls. We were coughing especially during nights given the air was so fusty. Breakfast was average. Staff was very friendly and helpful all... More

Good value for money! The room was very large and bright. Only negative was that is was a bit noisy from the street but for what you pay this is great. Extremely clean. Fantastic location. Breakfast is not award winning but ok. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Will come back.

We had a great stay for 3 nights here. We loved the location of the Guest House, a short walk to the river and to all the other sights in the other direction - central indeed. The room was just huge (so big that I couldnt see the TV very well from the bed... first world problems!), we were on... More
