We were welcomed by Pedro upon arrival and he briefed us about every little thing a tourist needs to know about Porto. We had a lovely superior double room which was like a room in a mansion. Very large and extremely well-furnished. We had a beautiful view and the service was impeccable. Pedro helped us with everything we needed without... More

It was quite a surprise that there was no elevator. Our rooms were on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which, of course, means the 3 and 4 story walkup. It wasn't the walk, it was the luggage. Maria, the Manager, made a bad situation excellent when she had helpers carry up our bags. The rooms are very nice and, as... More

GPS for some reason does not find the address 23/24 but if you punch in 15 you will be almost in front of the guest house. The location is close to everything and is in the mid height range (because this is a hilly city) so you will either have to go down to the river front or up to... More

Rooms are really big. They have rooms overlooking the street and rooms facing a back patio. I recommend rooms with street views. You can see Palacio de la Bolsa, from the terrace. I read breakfast was limited with choices but I was very pleased with the offer. Good variety. The staff was also very nice, and close to the guests.... More

Our stay did not get off to the best start when, having emailed to say we would be arriving at 2pm (check-in routinely starts from 3), there was no one there. You can't get into the guest house without a key so we had to take our luggage with us to have lunch. Not a huge problem but a little... More

this small hotel is located in the heart of the historic center. our view from the room was looking down on the center from above-wow. breakfast was simple but delicious offering fresh pastry each morning along with local cheeses and cured meats. the rooms were basic, but large with comfortable beds and above average bathrooms. this is a very unique... We travelled by train from The Algarve to Porto in Northern Portugal. We stayed for two nights in The Cale Guest House. It is perfectly situated within walking distance of all the attractions and our room overlooked the Douro River. The staff were most welcoming, helpful and informative. The bed was comfortable, the water hot and breakfast more than adequate.... More

In the heart - coração - of historical part of Porto's city. Clean, cozy and well localized. The crew are really friendly - (and as I could heard) - maneuver quite well the English language. Of course the charming rooms are those ones turned to the street and Douro's water. My wife and I took a room located in the... More

Perfect location just a short walk to the waterfront and local sites. This is a small (7 rooms) guesthouse in a renovated 5 storey building. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. And if you are at the front of the building you get the most lovely views. Breakfast was absolutely fine - the usual cheeses, cold meats, eggs, breads,... More

Enjoyed our stay at this friendly guest house, where the staff were diligent and helpful (full of recommendations for sites and restaurants. The location is perfect - an easy walk to Palacio da Bolsa, Igreja da Sao Fransisco, the lively Ribeira district (waterfront) and the pedestrian bridge (Ponte de Dom Luis), which takes you over to the wine cellars across...
