Location of the hostel is perfect, a gentle walk to the coast, 30/45min walk to the city center. Staff are welcoming and super friendly. The facilities are great, kitchen, washing machine and dryer etc. We had a great view from the balcony in our double room. Convenient shop across the road. Public transport from outside the door. Love love love... More

This place is horribly dated. Orange seems to be the only colour known to the interiors team. The views from the south-facing bedrooms is incredible, though. You'll have to get a bus (or taxi) to the city centre - it's just too far to walk.

First point: it is not in the city center ! but you can easily move with the bus (bus stop nearby the hostel). Staff is kind and helpful. We had a double room with the view on the river that was fantastic ! Room and bathroom were clean. It seemed to be in a hotel. I didn't give more than... More

I recently stayed in this hostel on my trip through Portugal. As far as the place itself goes, it was modern, clean, and had pretty much anything the budget traveller would be looking for. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. There is also a supermarket just across the road, which is very convenient if you plan to self-cater. One... More

I recommend this hostel to everyone from younger to older people. If you´re in a low budget and want to stay in a good location, with river view in this city this is the place to stay. You have three bedroom options - shared room, double bedroom with no WC and bedroom with WC. I stayed in the double with... More

This was the second hostel I stayed in my life. It was a great experience. The view of our room was beautiful and relaxing. The room was very broad and clean. The heating was not so good, and I got a bit cold there (in February, winter time in Portugal). The doorknob of my room was loose but it still... More

I must agree there was some nazi graffiti on the side of the driveway, but that was the extent of it. I can't say I had any in my room. It's a short walk to the river's edge and it's a good 30 min walk to the Contemporary Art museum, if you're into walking (otherwise there's a bus directly outside)...some... More

The location of the hostel is perfect if one seeks to spend the days near the water. Nice promenade along the river. Cheap supermarket across the street. Beach was "under construction" in June and by the looks of it it may well be for a few more weeks... The best part of this hostel is definitely the kitchen terrace which... More

The youth hostel (pousada de juventude) is, as the other reviews say, quite far from the centre of Porto, but there is a regular bus link from right outside the hostel and taxis were also very cheap to get home at night. I stayed here for 2 nights in a private twin-bed room, which had a balcony and a beautiful... More

The Youth Hostel is near the Porto Foz, where the river meets the sea. It's 3 km from the town center, we took the bus often, it´s a 5 minutes travel. The view of some rooms is excelent, the furniture is new, my room was clean with a big window and balcony facing some trees. The WC is big and clean,... More
