Staying at Porta Azul absolutely made our weekend in Porto. Pedro and Marta were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful, providing a wealth of advice on what to see and where to eat/drink (including lovely, lesser known spots). The breakfast was fantastic and the complimentary tea, coffee and port a lovely touch. Our room was simple, comfortable and spotless, with its... More

The weather was dismal and the street was non-descript, but this B&B radiated sunshine :) Staff and owners were so welcoming, friendly, and sincere. They fell over themselves ensuring we had everything we needed, providing thorough advice and insights on what to do and most importantly, where to eat. Every recommendation we followed was a winner. Our room was minimally... More

Lovely, carefully restored building in a good location (near the Cristal Palace). Walking distance to everything (10-15 minutes to Ribeira and old town). Rooms are spacious and functional - ours had a small balcony overlooking the lovely backyard. Breakfasts were amazing, including different kinds of eggs and cake each day, not to mention homemade pate. And, unlike a previous reviewer,... More

This period building has been well restorating by Pedro and Martha. We were lucky to be facing the back garden. The breakfast is very good value with a different type of eggs and cake everyday. Coffe and tea whenever wanted ! Pedro and Martha were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Pedro's suggestions both in terms of visits... More

Porto Azul is great! The rooms are good, quiet, clean. Breakfast is delicious with homemade cake, special cheese, jams, fresh bread and good coffee. The owners, Piedro and Martha, together with Philip, are wonderful. And Porto is just beautiful. Thank you so much!

We were very happy with the service here! The people that own the place are so kind and generous! It's like staying with old friends! I loved quiet and clean room facing the garden. A nice touch was the flask of port wine. One slight point of improvement could be the coffee at breakfast.

Despite pouring rain during half of our stay in Porto, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here! Much thanks to the warm welcome, hospitality and excellent guiding by the owners Pedro and Martha! We enjoyed very much the personal service, the homemade food, great house with lovely interior and a style much in our taste. We felt like home, as if... More

This is one of the few places to stay in the world where the place and the people who run it are simple beyond your expectations. Pedro and Martha the owners as well as Felipe and Felipa who assist them couldnt do enough to make our short stay with them exceptional. They treated us and all the guests there as... More
