I really loved this building and the rooms. It was remodeled well preserving the tradicional but still giving it a touch of modern ( bathrooms) The rooms have a high ceiling with all the decor, the windows that lead to the street are get sunlight all day and at night when shutting the 2nd set of doors it completely shuts... Don't be thrown off by the busy street and the subtle entry...behind the facade lies a wonderful way station in Porto. This is my third overnight trip to Porto and Porta Azul was by far the best accommodations. We requested quiet rooms and so ours and our friends faced the serene back yard of chairs and lawn. Our overnight rest... More

I stayed at Porta Azul with my fiancee during 4 nights. The room is comfortable and the place is very nice, and close to the city center, and the hosts are very pleasant. They explained us how to visit the city with a lot of details of the monuments, restaurants, transports... So I highly recommend this place, if I visit... More

This nice little b&b run by super friendly and helpful, Marta, was great in all respects - location, cleanliness, good breakfast, room size - except for two things. Firstly there were lots of animals at night making loads of noises. If you close the windows and doors to reduce the noise, there's no ceiling fans to circulate the air (no... More

Porto is a beautiful city you must visit and enjoy, also with a port cocktail from the Gaia side of the river. Pension is great, Marta is the friendly and funny host providing tips, especially about good restaurants to follow up. Use the bikes to go to the beach and try the fish in the village there too!

My husband and I stayed here recently for 3 nights and we couldn't have been more impressed. The owners are the nicest people in the world and instantly make you feel like you are staying in your own home. They are eager to help you with anything you need in addition to giving great tips and suggestings for Porto. The... More

We - a family of four - spent three wonderful days at Porta Azul. What a gem of a place! It is very conveniently located if you have a car as there is a spacious underground public parking facility just across the street. Major sights are all within walking distance and Porto is indeed a great city for walking, walking,... More

A beautiful place, just in front of the Cristal Palace park and only a few minutes walk from the centre of Porto. The owners gave me a very warm welkom. My room had a balcony overlooking the garden. On saturday there was even a party with live music and a massage. For breakfast there was a perfect coffee and a... More

Porta Azul was everything it promised in terms of local hospitality guest house located within easy walking distance of the central city, near the bus and library. Marta is lovely and happy to have you.
