The owners were especially cordial and helpful and the cakes (baked by the owner's mother) at breakfast were delicious. The refurbished former residence and yard are very nice. Porta Azul is within reasonable walking distance from the center of town.

Porta Azul Guest House is the perfect accommodation if you want to explore Porto. Situated on the edge of the city center, virtually all places of interest are in walking distance, even the Port wine caves on the other side of the Douro. With a taxi, it takes about a quarter of an hour to get to the airport. (There’s... More

I chose to stay in Porta Azul after reading through the tripadvisor reviews and thankfully it lived up to it's reputation. What makes this lovely boutique style hotel so special is ,to be honest, it's owners, Pedro and Marta. They are extremely helpful and accommodating and go out of their way to help you to enjoy Oporto to the fullest.... More

Hosts Marta and Pedro were welcoming, professional, helpful, attentive, responsive, relaxed, and on site. They went the extra kilometer for us on even small requests. The hotel is a restored house with 6 rooms in a great location for getting to the main areas of Porto. Our two rooms (two mature couples) were beautifully restored, airy, spacious, and the one... I stayed for four nights with Marta and Pedro at Porta Azul and had a wonderful time. The hotel has a cozy boutique style and looks fantastic. The renovations of this old building have been done extremely well and have managed to keep the best of the old and marry it perfectly with modern conveniences. I would recommend staying in... More

Porta Azul Guest House is very well situated, only a few minutes by walk to the center of Porto and in the street of the house there is a bus stop that take wherever you want, to beaches of Matosinhos, to Serralves, Airport… The room is very quiet, even though it is situated in the city center. The entire room... More

Hidden behind a beautiful blue door is the gorgeousness that is the Porta Azul guest house. It's a beautiful place, an old colonial building that has been sensitively reconditioned in a clean and stylish way. The hosts, Pedro and Marta, couldn't have been more helpful, calling it 'our home' which they delivered well on: you can help yourself to teas... More

Porta Azul Guest House is well situated, next to a park on the west side of the City and it is very easy to walk to main sights or use the good public transport system. The rooms are very comfortable with great shower rooms. The hosts are very welcoming and will help you with information to maximise your time in... More
