Let me start by saying that this is the single best located hotel in Porto, with this kind of very acceptable daily rate. The first thing you'll notice is that the reception is on the second floor (you'll need to go up 8 steps to reach the elevator). It's not a big deal if you don't have any mobility issues.... More

Fabulous old hotel in excellent central area close to all attractions, shops and 10 minute walk to the river. Dubious to begin with as the reception was up two flights of stairs and it had a feeling of "age".. On checking in we were told we had a basic room up the 6th floor, the elevator only went up to... An old refurbished building very well located in the center of Porto. The rooms are a little small, no safe box. Everything is clean when you look around but do not try to pick up something under the bed or do not look behind the telephone. Is there a vaccum cleaner there? Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m., what is a... More

This hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms are quite small but adequate. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was a typical European style with good choice. However, you have to get down early if you want a nice fresh croissant or they will all be gone! The location of the hotel is excellent... The hotel is located in the center of Porto, in the main avenue of the city. However, the facilities seem like those of a B&B and the sound is poorly isolated, so during the night there is a lot of noise. They have a special room where they allow to keep the luggage before the check-in and after the check-out,... More

Having booked the hotel for a short business trip, based on combination of price and location in the city centre, I did not have the time to check other reviews up front. So I did on the train to Porto. Yes, the building is old and admittedly a bit stuffy. But is has character and atmosphere and is located in... More

We found this hotel good. I think we were lucky because we had an enormous room overlooking the square. The 2 small desks and chairs, couch and and armchair were a wonderful change after the usual small European hotel rooms. It was reasonably priced and the breakfast OK. However the hotel "rules" left us a bit peeved. No eating food... More

Me and my wife stayed in this hotel for a weekend in Porto. The only good part of this hotel is its Wi-Fi connection. Do not trust the location of the hotel. You have to walk for nearly 20-minutes to go to the riverside. The room smells humid (dark & dewy). Breakfast was typical 3-star hotel type. Do not expect... More

The hotel is in a lovely square - near to the Cathedral - good hotel and restaurant is downstairs. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is adequate. Ask for a room overlooking the square. I love Porto.
