This claims to be the oldest hotel in Porto and it shows in places. However, it is full of charm and character. We really enjoyed our stay. People often comment that old hotels smell. This does but it is a constantly wonderful smell of fresh laundry. Our first room was very small. We would have happily stayed but the entrance... More

The Grande Hotel de Paris is the oldest hotel of Porto and it managed to keep the charm and authenticity of former times. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast, which is included, is very good too. You can enjoy your breakfast outside in a quiet yard, which probably is very rare given the location in the center of... More

Super historic hotel with nice sitting rooms and garden. Felt very much back in time. Great breakfast with bacon eggs and French toast as well as local favorites. Use a cross street on your GPS to find.

This hotel is a fading old lady on too small a pension with some major grumpiness issues but still able to charm when she feels like it. Our room was on the 1st floor facing the street - HOT w/o A/C and LOUD with people screaming and "singing" in the streets all night (no exaggeration, ALL night on a Tuesday).... More

This was our first visit to Porto, and we were looking for a central hotel, offering good value, comfortable and interesting accommodation. This hotel certainly fits the bill and fulfilled ours and our friends expectations. It's position next to the Avenida dos Aliados makes it a perfect place for a base to stay in Porto. This hotel is in the real... More

Just had a 3 night stay at this hotel in Porto. No reason to complain about anything. The room was comfortable and perfectly adequate although we never did figure out the plug in the wash basin ! It is very centrally situated although the road it is in does look a little like a back street. Very convenient for the... More

We recently stayed here for three nights and found this to be a charming old hotel, with beautiful antiques on every landing and comfortable rooms, which although not huge, we're excellent value for the price paid. The staff were all extremely charming and helpful - reception always remembered your room no without being told! Location is great - very central... More

We arrived late in the evening, after a welcome check in we were taken to our room, a bit dated , but with good beds, nice bathroom and very clean.Next morning after the best breakfast we had during our trip to Portugal we had a look around the hotel, it is indeed a museum and a very nice one at... We loved staying here. We were lucky and got a room at the back, I think it would be worth paying the extra to guarantee this as I understand from other tourists we met that the front street (although looking quiet) can be noisy at night. There is really old lift that is a fun way to get to your... More

A stay at the Grand Hotel de Paris is an experience in itself. We enjoyed our three nights there very much, appreciating the ambience of the Belle Epoch and the magnificent breakfast each morning. The location is very convenient for those arriving by air as you can catch either the Terravision shuttle (5 euro p.p one way) which drops you... More
