An atmospheric hotel redolent of turn of the century (19-20th!) Europe, with much elegant art nouveau furniture. The room we had hadn't a great view, but was comfortable, with a good bed, and well provided, for example with bath accessories and firmer and softer pillows. The buffet breakfast is taken in a large high-ceilinged dining room, or in the adjacent... More

Steps to enter this place but once you are in its great. There is an elevator. Lots of old artifacts. Rooms are comfortable and clean. We had a view of the city rooftops. The breakfasts are the best. Lots of choices and delicious.

Started off in a room street side, not realising that Porto has such a lively nightlife. Double glazing kept noise out but made it stifling inside. We were given another room, no questions asked, at the back of the hotel. Clean, spacious, very comfortable. The hotel is in the centre of Porto, with interesting bars, shops and cafes on the... This small hotel is located just west of the Town Center, within walking distance of the train station. (Train from Lisbon to Porto, first class for a senior, is 18 Euro/pp if purchased at the train station). We were on the third floor in front with two large windows but no air conditioning. We too had to choose between the... More

I have stayed here twice. The first time I have a room facing a courtyard, very quiet but no view. The second time we were on the third floor on the street, Saturday night it was very noisy and because the room had no air con we had to choose between noise or heat. The hotel is friendly and has... This is my favourite hotel! It's absolutely beautiful as if you've taken a step back in time - classic and preserved, an old elevator still in working condition, beautiful staircases & an overall timeless look. Perfect location less than 5 minutes from the main Aliados square and yet in a quiet cobble-stoned street near a number of restaurants. Also a... More

Beautiful old world hotel with loads of charm and character, just like stepping back in time but not if you can understand that. Rooms lovely and clean mind you no air conditioning but we didn't need it. Lovely garden outside breakfast room mind the midges! 😄 Very pleasant and helpful staff. Ideal location. Highly recommend it. Breakfast yummy.

Location: The hotel is located very close to the main square as well as the Sao Benta metro station. If you are coming by train from Lisbon you should alight at Sao Benta. From Sao Benta it is a 5 minute walk Reception: Very quick and efficient. Formalities were concluded in 10 minutes flat Rooms: The hotel is really an... More

A very beautiful old hotel (since 1867-ish) and close to the city-center (2-3 min walk). It has kept its charm (and a lot of the furniture and original decorative elements). The rooms were very clean and offered everything you need (including tooth brush for e.g.). The breakfast was especially good and diverse (from scrambled eggs to fruits and several types... More
