This is a great hotel in an excellant location close to what is effectively the main square. We took the metro from the airport to Trindade station then walked to the hotel which took about 10 minutes. Located close to Sao Bento station for train ride up Douro and to other cities nearby. We could see the Torre of the... More

I stayed here in January its the oldest hotel in Porto, and has that charm. There is some updating required in the rooms but overall in is a great base to explore from as everything is right on your doorstep. The price was more than reasonable and the continental breakfast didn't have the wow factor but did the job in setting... More

This hotel oozes old fashioned style in that most of the rooms and furnishings date back before chain hotels existed. We loved the quirkiness of the place, my wife couldn't find her way back to the room via all the corridors and stair cases. However it is very open and light in the public areas and round every corner you... More

A charming grand style hotel with a unique history. Sensitively, carefully preserved in its original form while managing to be v clean, functional and comfortable. Its great location and friendly, polite team of staff giving superb service added to a terrific value for money. Antique furniture and interesting artefacts complimented smaller touches such as embossed bed linen. A varied and... More

The hotel location is great - it is not noisy (we had a room facing backwards) and most interesting things are within 10-15 minute walk. The hotel furbishing used to be very nice several decades back, but now calls for repairs and more sensitive refurbishment that we saw in our room. Breakfasts are marvelous, service at the reception desk ranging... More

A great location and a lovely old hotel. It proved to be an exceptional choice for a short stay in Oporto. The staff are superb and the breakfast was of a high quality in a stunning dining room. The cleanliness was a notable feature alongside the character and ambience of this charming hotel. The garden is delightful and we will return... More

My husband and I took a bus from Lisbon and couldn't find this hotel for a while, lugging our bags as we kept asking several different people where this hidden gem was located. It actually is close to everything and was easy to find once we got our bearings straightened out. We stayed in several different hotels while traveling around... More

This beautiful old hotel, the oldest in Porto apparently, has a lot of character and charm and has dedicated some of its communal areas to the history of the hotel, which makes for some interesting wandering around. The rooms are quite basic but have undergone some recent refreshment work with a new bathroom suite and some double glazed sliding doors... More

The Grande Hotel de Paris has a charm and personality all its own. The staff is friendly and helpful. The building has character and is filled with elements of history - particularly furniture in common hallways and the dining room. The rooms are functional and comfortable. The morning breakfast is well stocked with good variety and friendly staff. There is... More

Oldest hotel in Porto, great location walkable to everywhere, including metro, trains station and hop on hop off bus. The hotel was clean and comfortable full of history, it is small and family run and all the staff are friendly and informative. Breakfast was amazing and you are in easy reach of many restaurants, cafe's and bars. Great price for... More
