Wonderful old world charm to this hotel. This was my third stay here and I enjoyed every stay. We visited 8th - 11th October. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of food. The rooms are basic but comfortable , very clean and fresh bedding and towels. At a weekend the streets of Porto... More

The hotel is said to be the oldest (?) in Porto, so it is not surprising given the economic state of the country that it is a little run down. But it is clean, staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is very good. The price is very reasonable, and the location can't really be beat. Be aware that it... More

We are from Tallinn, Estonia, and stayed at this hotel for two nights in September. The hotel is located in the centre of the city, just 5 minutes walk from Avenida dos Aliados, one of the most important avenues of the city, and within ca 10 minutes walking distance of Rail Station Sao Bento. This historic hotel has a beautiful... More

Booked this hotel 7 weeks in advance and was very eager to go here. Except for the fact that the hotel canceled my room TWO days before my stay. They didn't do this theirselves, but through my booking agency! They didn't react to my emails about this as well. When I booked the room I sent an email if they... More

The hotel is well located a few minutes walk from the metro, quite a few bars and restaurants and a pleasant 5 min walk from the waterfront. There are lots of nice restaurants and bars very close to the hotel. The above advantages are also the the hotels weak points - the room we were allocated was at the front... More

Located close to the Torre de Clerigos, it is only a short walk from the hotel to the major tourist attractions of Porto. Getting there with a rental car is a bit of a hassle due to the charming, yet not exactly car-friendly, layout of Porto. Once we arrived, the service crew was very helpful in getting our car securely... More

The Grande Hotel de Paris is excellently situated; 5 mins walk from the drop off airport shuttle, 10 mins to most major attractions and many restaurants nearby. Communal areas are well presented and furnished with antiques, though the bathroom fittings are VERY dated. Breakfast provision was good, with the usual fresh fruit/yogourts/cheeses and meats/pastries etc. HOWEVER, AVOID THE ROOMS FRONTING... More

This claims to be the oldest hotel in Porto and it shows in places. However, it is full of charm and character. We really enjoyed our stay. People often comment that old hotels smell. This does but it is a constantly wonderful smell of fresh laundry. Our first room was very small. We would have happily stayed but the entrance... More

The Grande Hotel de Paris is the oldest hotel of Porto and it managed to keep the charm and authenticity of former times. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast, which is included, is very good too. You can enjoy your breakfast outside in a quiet yard, which probably is very rare given the location in the center of... More

Super historic hotel with nice sitting rooms and garden. Felt very much back in time. Great breakfast with bacon eggs and French toast as well as local favorites. Use a cross street on your GPS to find.
