I booked this hotel online through "seadmitemascotas.com" which is a Spanish website that allows you to book hotels that accept dogs. As this hotel didn't have a weight restriction on animals (my dog is a 50+ pound greyhound), we decided to stay here. After reading the comments below I wonder if we all stayed in the same location... Ok, it's... More

Hotel is dated and shabby, yet seemed clean enough. Was gorgeous in it's day probably, but has since declined to a 'faded lady'. Room smelled musty/unused, but improved once we opened a window and let it air out for a few minutes. Major selling point was that it is cheap. Within walking distance to the river. Not the best neighborhood,... More

I would put this hotel into the back packer bracket. Beds are clean, hotel is dated and shabby in places. breakfast was good and staff are really nice. Not a great part of town but the price is right at 44 euros.

We like to visit value for money hotels and have found many little gems but the glitter has long left the crown here. We arrived at 12 midday to be told we couldn't register until after 2pm because the cleaner was still in the room. We walked around the square to see what was available for lunch, but didn't feel... We got a room in the basement, with little window with view to the sidewalk. The bed was very uncomfortable and made squiky noises. Our bathroom had very old appliances and sometimes pipes made strange noises. Breakfast was very poor. The old man at the reception was speaking many languages fluently but we had an impression like he was the... More

The hotel is located in a very old building with unpleasant odour of used stuff. The room was dirty, noisy and very cold. It had cracked washbasin, extremely uncomfortable bed, there was not a single plug socket and even no hairdryer.

This was the worst hotel I ever visited. Even though the road outside of the hotel was not very big, the noise in the hotel room was so loud. We had the room just at the entrance and therefore we also had noice from all people coming back in the night. It felt as if we had the cars and... More

I had a room on the ground floor – one below street level and it was dark, damp, noisy and although I had asked for a room with light and little noise, they didn’t seem to care. Also, by about 6pm the neighborhood is a ghost town, bus service is not good and it’s a cab ride down to Ribera... More

This place is absolutely gorgeous - an old mansion turned to hotel rooms, and incredible rates! The breakfast had yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, toast, croissants. The bathroom was huge, and we even had a separate small bedroom with a single bed. I loved this place.

Whenever I am in Porto, and I go often, I stay at the Residencial Rex. Jose is an excellent host, always willing to assist with any need. The entire staff goes above and beyond. The Central district is a straight shot - I've walked it in 15 minutes - with plenty of good restaraunts in evey price range nearby. The... More
