Don't be discouraged by the exterior of this hotel (I was at first)- it's a classic, older hotel in the midst of Porto (hard to find- take a taxi, don't try to drive there like we did). Step inside and it's a lovely hotel with exceptional service and large, well-appointed, attractive and very comfortable rooms. They do not have a... More

Location - perfectly situated, 15 min walk from most attractions (hills included!) Value - excellent. You cannot get a Hilton for that price, with wifi and breakfast included. Breakfast was very good, hot and cold items. And all fresh (at least still by 8:30 am still fresh!) The hotel has a medieval palace charm. The views from the back roof... More

It is a real shame to have to write such a negative review. This is the first time I have ever written a review on TripAdvisr and the only reason I am doing so is because my experience at Infante Sagres was so bad. When we checked in, we were both really happy with the level of attentiveness and the... More

I stayed at the hotel infante sagres in August 2014. It was one of the worst hotel stays of my life. The hotel is not five star but charges five star rates. Noise is a huge issue. At 1:00 am, the staff is sorting silverware and moving stuff outside rooms. Even after multiple requests, the noise continued. In addition, due... More

Disappointing as a 5* hotel. Well situated but soulless. Our room was tired, the window frames were in desperate need of repair. No tea or coffee making facilities in the bedroom and the shower head was so loose that it either sprayed the wall or the floor. Breakfast well below standard. The building has so much potential. Book, the hotel's... More

Good location in Porto downtown, kind and professional staff. Good rooms. In case I'll be back. During the football world-cup in a nice boudoir, we have seen many football games. The old, perfectly working elevator, with leather upholstery, is something to be carefully observed.

a couple of blocks from the central square, and walking distance from everything you would want to see in Porto. the lobby, hallway decorations, and rooms suggest it would be $250 a night, but we paid half that. great breakfast. unfortunately no pool or airport pickup.

My husband and I were on a walking holiday and only had 2 nights in Porto before going to the wine country on the Douro. We were a little disappointed by the outside but the inside was gorgeous. Even though our room was on the fifth floor, we enjoyed walking down the palatial staircase with the beautiful windows and chandeliers,... More

Perhaps we were spoilt having just stayed at the glorious Vidago Palace an hour out of town in the rolling northern Portuguese countryside, but in any event, our stay at the Infante Sagres was a generally underwhelming experience. We'd been expecting something special, and booked a suite through the Small Luxury Hotels website. Anyway, gripes as follows: - on arrival,... More

From the outside, this hotel looks like a run-down government building from a totalitarian period. Inside, it’s a palace. Since the hotel is a five star, expectations are highly set, and for the price tag, some more efforts could be given to the wifi and the breakfast.
