This hotel feels like the European hotels one reads about in novels. The lobby is intimate but elegant. The dining room, which is only used for breakfast now, is opulent. And the breakfast is wonderful. The hallways feel grand and wide. The rooms are extremely comfortable. Ours, which was one category up from standard had a large bathroom with a... More

The hotel is really cute and is located right at the heart of the city. What I was most impressed with was that last day when I was rushing to get a quick breakfast before heading to the airport, I left my jacket in the breakfast room. They shipped it for me all the way to South Carolina, USA. That... More

very good location in the heart of the city, entrance, halls and bar were beautiful, we change the room because the 1st one the bed was very small for two person with an extra charge, after we were moved to the top floor with a great view, which in global was well paid for.

Great service and good advice on the city. Poor internet!! Great women who maintain the rooms, wonderfully nice! Breakfast is the same every morning and it's good :) very close to the sights of Porto. Lots to walk to, lots to see. Across the street from a wonderful sushi bar and a great Mexican tapas food joint. Very happy with... More

We stayed for the weekend and we loved this hotel. The staff is very nice, the room was very comfortable, modern and clean. The hotel has a special charm, full of quality with a mix of old and modern style. Furthermore, the location is one of its best assets: just walking distance to the most important landmarks of the city,... More

This is an old style hotel, but it is full of quality, and the sort of charm that modern hotels just don't provide. This means that it has a few idiosyncrasies, which give it its character. The hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, so you can imagine the style, and it lives up... More

A stylish, elderly aunt who is not overly concerned with modernity. Comfortable & clean. Room described as 'sound proofed - it was not. The racket coming from the street bar on Friday night in the square outside was unbelievable.Bring ear plugs. When checking out, the desk mentioned it was even worse on Saturdays. Bathroom is adequate but tired, old silicon... More

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff is very nice, the breakfast superb and the rooms very confortable. The location is excellent, in the downtown close to everything at a walking distance. The relation between cost/benefit is good. I strongly recommend!

From the outside this hotel looks like an old government building, but when you are inside you are in another world. The hotel is beautiful decorated and you feel as if you are in a palace. Using the hotel lift is an experience of its own; it could have been removed from a museum. It has its own will and... More

Sorry, I can't agree. For two, we were given a large room, comfy beds, functional TV, decrepit A/C (ancient, loud and non-functional, but we could open the window), mainly chocolate brown decorated bedroom with mismatched furniture paired with mainly black with white basic bathroom, no separate shower, no grab bars in shower-over-bath, view over courtyard to city, quiet room. Family... More
