We stayed at the >Infanto de Sagres in june 2009. the hotel is in the very heart of Porto ideally situatd for all types of excursions. It is situatd in an old building with all the mod cons required. Marble bathroom, large rooms (we stayed in a luxury double), very comfortable big beds etc...the breakfast buffet is included in the... more

Basic Service, Eager Personnel Beautiful “boutique” style hotel in the common areas, basic (to say the least) in the room areas. Located in the center of the city, it gives you the basic amenities and polite service, don’t expect too much. Pros: - Old beautiful building kept in goodish condition. - The personnel was polite and tried to help with... more

We have been to Oporto a few times now and the Infantes de Sagres is without a doubt the most charming hotel in the city. It is not pretentious and yes, not the super lux 5* some may expect however it is such a spectacular building that it warrants the 5* rating. Staff were great, the breakfast was wonderful (sparkling... more

In its heyday this has been a grand and elegant hotel and in the "public" areas remains so. It is in a good central location. However it does not have double glazing so that on the weekend nights there is a lot of intrusive street noise all night. Our (rather small) room, especially the bathroom, was in serious need of... more

We stayed for 5 nights in a twin room. As said by the other reviewers the rating as a 4* or local 5* is optimistic. At some time in the distant past the hotel would have deserved the 5* rating, but no longer. There is no getting away from the fact that this is an historic building, so it does... more

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Infante de Sagres in Porto, Portugal on the evening of September 28, 2008. The Hotel Infante de Sagres is an older historic property, rated as a 5 star hotel with an excellent location -- just a couple blocks from the central São Bento train station and the historic river front. We wanted... more

I really enjoyed my time at the Hotel Infante Sagres. The room we had was spacious and well decorated with traditional furniture. I loved the marble bathroom. In fact the whole hotel had very interesting artefacts on each floor. The only thing that seemed strange was the white pvc chairs scattered round i.e. in the lobby and in the breakfast... more

Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Porto's business district, just off avenue republica. Rooms are a little tired and moth eaten but nice. Breakfast is a little stuffy but a good selection. Be warned, do not leave money in your room as we had £50 taken out of my wallet when I stayed. It was only when we went... more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in April over a weekend. We we were a large family group , with older people (my parents) , a twentysomething (my brother) and young one (my son) . We booked 3 rooms directly by calling the hotel and got a very good deal. It is a beautiful hotel, with amazing antique... more

Beautiful hotel, short walk from the main shopping area. Really oppulently decorated with beautiful fireplaces, stained glass and the sort of service you would expect from somewhere like this. Breakfast is a huge buffet and absolutely delicious - something for everyone, but dinner and room service didn't seem to change much. The room service was prompt and efficient and if... more
