There are 3, important caveats to this hotel getting an "excellent" rating. We stayed on a high Executive floor at this excellent hotel in a nice residential neighborhood a convenient walking distance from the Casa da Musica and the Contemporary Art Museum (which are not to be missed). The rooftop breakfast was superb, and the service was excellent - and the restaurant has a great view. No other tourists (a definite plus!). More

This is a large and pleasant hotel that seems to attract mainly a business crowd - often large groups (it isn't called a congress hotel for nothing). The hotel staff were courteous, friendly, very helpful and attentive. The whole hotel experience was luxurious and calming,just what is needed for a relaxing and pampered break. p.s. one needs to be fit to cope with walking up and down the steep hills but the transport was readily available to make exploring easier.
