Perfect for a couple of days in Porto. Great location, though Porto is a very compact city and a lot of hotels are within the same general area. Adequate and typical Mercure rooms. Service levels are good but was very crowded and you need to wait to get to the people at the reception if you need directions or order... More

We checked in and the hotel receptionist noticed from my passport that it was my birthday. She wished me a happy birthday and a few hours later a plate of Portuguese custard tarts, a bunch of grapes and a large bottle of water appeared in our room. A very nice touch. The room had a beautiful view of Porto with... More

Beautiful, clean hotel, with large rooms! The hotel is also walking distance from most attractions which is fabulous. The staff isn't the most friendly, but they're not rude either. We upgraded to the larger room, which I highly recommend! Also, if you're thinking of booking the breakfast, don't feel like you have to; there are plenty of places to grab... More

As many other mentioned before, the great asset of this Hotel is its location close to many of the main attractions, the river, a shopping area and the railway station. It is also easily reachable by public transport, The nearest Metro station is just a few meters away and so is the railway station. The lobby of the hotel is... More

This hotel has a good position near the centre of Porto and the room we had was quite quiet, but the service at reception was unhelpful and unfriendly when we checked in. There were also a few drunks sitting around the corner when we arrived, which was a bit disconcerting. There must be better hotels to stay in in Porto... More

We loved staying at this hotel both for the location which was walking distance to everything as well as the quality of the room and service. The hotel was very accommodating and went out of their way to help even sending an employee with me to find the parking garage which was near but a bit challenging to get to... More

A well placed hotel for seeing Porto. On the top of the hill above the Douro River. There are steps down or a Funicular, definitely better for the return journey. The City itself is not of particular interest but the area around the river and on the south side where the Port Wineries are is very nice. There are some... More

The hotels is central, walking there can be steep, be advised. Mercure is what Mercure is: predictable, good rates, nice staff, but this had an extra, a very good restaurant and very professional and helpful waiters. The only draw back is the old A/C system, but the old one works, but takes time to cool down the room.

A good base for a city break in Porto. Very close to buses and the train station (up a steep hill, but it's Porto, everywhere is up a steep hill...), on a pleasant square in the centre of the city. Great views of the city from the higher rooms. Room was clean and tidy, didn't try the breakfast as so... More

Great Hotel in the center of Porto with a very helpful staff! The rooms are small but extremely clean. Very easy walk to many different sites in Porto and it sits in a very cute plaza in a town center.
