This was the family's first trip to Portugal. We were very pleased with this hotel. Out two rooms (532 and 534) were excellent and the front desk staff very helpful. The hotel is high up above the station and river-side, but of course we had fantastic views to enjoy and we soon worked out the simplest way to walk down... more

In Mercure Porto Center (Praca da Batalha) the rooms are comfortable but a little crammed with furniture or needing more space for it. Good buffet breakfast and poor restaurant service. At night, if you´re travelling alone, Praca da Batalha invites to don’t leave the hotel. Very kind front desk service. more

Just OK

This Mercure in Porto, Portugal is very disappointing. Although the room is acceptable, everything else could be greatly improved. The breakfast is very unappetizing. The food that should have been hot was barely warm and the coffee was not hot. The wait staff does not seem to be interested in providing any more that than absolute minimum level of service.... more

We recently stayed 6 nights here and was very pleased with the hotel. Room as you would expect , spotlessly clean and we even had a small lounge. Everyone on reception very pleasant ,helpfull and friendly, always happy to answer any questions and phone for taxis and restaurant bookings. The location is very good although it is a very steep... more

This hotel was a great choice. It is in a good location, walking distance from most areas of the city. Please note that it is at the top of a relatively steep walk from the main tourist area so bring comfortable shoes. The room was clean, comfortable although just a little bit small for three women (it is a good... more

It was a bit challenging to find the hotel if you arrived from city centre, the hotel is located uphill and the streets are confusing. Don't be hesitant to ask the local. portuguese are the nicest people is the world! The hotel itself is nice and staff are helpful, there are some local restaurants about the hotel, worth to try... more

Difficult to find there, when self-driving. Stayed 5 nights. God indoor parking, when driving a small car. Almost everything (which means a lot) within walking distance. Living at the top floor, we had bigger windows than the rest, and where allowed to smoke. Good for me. The view is fantastic. No complaints at all. more

This hotel is sitated in the heart of the old Porto, very close to all atractions, shops, restaurants, parties etc... If you're lucky you will have Porto view room. Rooms are comfortable, nice looking and staff is very friendly. It was good choice. Next time probably I will stay there once again! more

What a better way to fully enjoy a summer evening in a beautiful city, than watching time go by over the darkened cityscape, with Porto's monuments lit up in the traditional yellow/orange light? The views from the rooms of Mercure Porto Batalha are simply breathtaking, and you'll be eager to know and love a city that looks so beauty from... more

We have spent a week for tourism in this hotel after having read all the favorable reviews. First it's perfectly located in the city's center a few step away from the Santa Catarina street and all major attractions ..It's located behind the Sao Bento railways station on a very steep hill ....It's better to get down at Bolaho station the... more
