We spent 5 nights in cell 501. The room is very small, very dark, it doesn't have a window but does have a door which is at an angle so lets no light in. The room is dated and has bare walls. The bed is one of those cheap, hard ones. I had to enter the bathroom sideways as it... More

While my room was acceptable one couple had a ceiling tile fall on them and had to move room and another couple lost a lot of sleep because they were so close to the lift the noise from people getting out of the lift kept them awake. Breakfast was a nightmare; the breakfast room was too small for the size... More

Rooms are like cells - very small, poorly lit, in need of redecoration, no pictures on the walls, ceiling panels come flying off if it is windy and I had a cold shower one evening as there was no hot water. The service at breakfast is the worst I have ever received anywhere - the staff don't smile, they don't... More

Two-night stay at Dom Henrique (Aug 2014). To get the negative stuff out of the way quickly - my complaints are relatively minor, but worth taking away one star. Long line at breakfast (I realize that our timing could have been bad, but waiting for a table for 30 mins and then having to share it with somebody is not... More

Quite simply, this is a great hotel. The room was spacious, well equipped and clean, and everything the hotel claimed was there, working and well maintained. The staff I encountered, from the reception to the cleaners and everyone in between were courteous and helpful and all seemed to get the balance just right between friendliness and professionalism. The bar never... More

My boyfriend and I spent a week in this hotel in August 2014. The location of this hotel is SPOT ON. You get access to the metro and buses close by, or you can just walk to a few of the main spots and attractions in Porto right from there (Avenida dos Aliados, Estação de São Bento, Rua de Santa... I went on a family vacation with my wife and three boys ( 12, 16 and 18) We had two separate rooms with a wonderful view over the city. The rooms need modernization, however, they we're clean and functional. The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke English well.

My review concerns only the dinner I had in the top floor in the restaurant od the hotel, and I can say it was pretty exquisite! The service is very professional and up to standard for a 4 star hotel, the whole ambient is very cosy and doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. A really good meal with a very ver... More
