When you first enter the hotel the foyer appears to be small and our first impressions were not bad but not great. We stayed for two nights and at the end of our visit the hotel had grown on us. The staff were friendly and dealt with all of our requests in a professional manner. We arrived early and they... more

A very dated hotel, it openend when i was a young child and was considered cutting edge when I was a child and we were there on holidays - however this is most definately NOT the case now. View from the bar is great. Rooms and general decor need updating...new carpet is DEFNATELY needed. Breakfasts are not good. Location is... more

Well situated hotel, 20 minutes walk downhill to the River. On the way back a taxi costs 4/5 Euro. We had a good size room and the bathroom was well appointed. The bed was a small double and VERY hard. Extra pillows provided and the air conditioning was very efficient. Breakfast was reasonable in terms of content, though tinned fruit... more

My husband and I spent 2 nights here in May, and found the hotel to be great overall, but definitely not a 4 star hotel in the usual way of thinking. We walked in off the street and were given a great room for 68 euro, which we thought was great value. That night though the reason for the discount... more

We stayed for two nights and loved the quiet. We enjoy fresh air and could leave the ample window open and still sleep. As others have noted, this hotel is not in the center of tourist activity, nor would I wander around at night but it is close enough to the Ribeiro and Metro lines to be adequately located. Our... more

Stayed at hotel for 5 days, was given junior suit on 12th floor with a magnificent view of the city, phoned hotel direct got good rate of 110 euro per night inc buffet breakfast. Room was clean and just about enough space for two adults and two children, location was great for seeing the city, about 15 minutes walk to... more

We've stay only for one night and we enjoyed. The hotel is not a 4 star. It's one of the oldest in town but the rooms aren't so small as some say. We had great views in the room, because we stayed at the 12th floor. It was very quiet at night and the beds were confortable. The only thing... more

We stayed at the Dom Henrique Hotel for one night in September, 2007. The hotel is an older facility, but it has been adequately maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant on the top floor of the hotel offers a spectacular view of the city, and the food was good. The hotel is in the downtown area, and... more

A good solid hotel. The location is excellent. 5 minutes walk from Trinidade metro. 10 to the city centre and 20 to the tourist restaurants on the river. If you don't want to walk, the metro and bus services are good. The hotel itself is fine. Comfortable medium size rooms, clean well equiped bathrooms, mini bar and efficient air conditioning.... more

This was the only hotel in Porto with rooms available, but it turned out to be a good choice. It's very central, close to the shopping area at St.Catharina, and at a 15 minutes' walk from the river with all the restaurants. The room was not very large, but it looked spacious. But I just had a "click" with this... more
