It was only a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to reach the river Douro with its picturesque quays and bridges, and slightly further to the town centre. The hotel is situated on a street that is quite busy during the day, but amazingly quiet at night. The bar was efficiently staffed, and serves the best white port and tonic... More

The hotel is in the perfect position being only steps away from the river, cafes, bars etc. Breakfast is plentiful and very good value if included in a B&B rate. The bedrooms facing the river on the 3rd floor are very small with hardly enough space to place two travel bags without falling over them. Bed was very comfy. The... More

I recently stayed at Carris Porto Ribeira for two nights before I commenced my Portuguese Camino walk. All aspects of my stay at the hotel were excellent, people were very helpful and friendly, accommodation was very comfortable, location was excellent and the restaurant was outstanding. Overall I had a very restful and enjoyable stay at Carris Porto Ribeira. I would... More

Despite our room not being available until 2.00pm (we arrived at 10.30) there are no complaints with this lovely hotel. We were allowed to leave our luggage in reception which allowed us to get acquainted with the lovely city of Porto. The standard room booked included a fridge/mini bar, hairdryer, TV & decent WiFi. There is a large shower in... More

We stayed for two nights in the hotel during our wine trip in the Douro Valley. The location of the hotel is just perfect! The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with fast WiFi, fridge and hair dryer. No noise from outside can be heard (in my room). The quality of the breakfast is not worth paying for unless... Have just returned from a 5 day trip to Porto and stayed at the Carris Porto Ribeira which is ideally located close to the Douro River. The hotel is in what appears to be an old warehouse and has been cleverly adapted. Our stay at the hotel was made more enjoyable by the excellent customer service and special mention must... More

Unless to can walk down a corridor 6 inches wide, which is all there was between the bed and the wall. So cramped it was redo upload. Reception took objection when I questioned my bill. Eventually removing the laundry charged which wax not ours. Restaurant had no table for us although it was half empty and pouring with rain. Not... More

A great Hotel, well converted and giving a modern look, particularly on the inside. We booked a basic room as we had little intention of spending of spending much time in it. This was the smallest room we have ever had in an hotel, but apart from tea/coffee facilities it was all we needed. That was until my wife injured... More

This hotel is in the centre of the Ribeira district so there are plenty of sights and restaurants nearby. The south bank is a short walk and there are lots of Port Wine LOdges to try. We were a little disappointed with our bedroom (407). Whilst it was well appointed, the room was very small. It also had a large... More
