Based centrally in the town the hotel is to a very good standard. I used the metro a lot for getting around. Staff very helpful. Porto can look a little run down but the history shines through - places like the railway station with the history on the walls for example and the Ponto des Luis 1, with its bars.... More

I had 3 nights in this great hotel. Has a late arrival, which was not a problem. The Hotel Teatro is absolutely central. Just a few steps away from the attractions. The staff, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff are top. Helpful, friendly. My room, 405, had very good size. Clean, comfortable. Breakfast was very good. You get... More

Outside facade such a shame. Dark, yes. But we know all that before booking, can only assume those negative ninnies did not! Some noise from street below, to be expected in a major city. Friendly staff, quirky fixtures and fittings. Best hotel shower I've had for some time. Wonderful value break through Expedia. Perfect base for exploring my new favourite... More

Check-in went quickly and friendly, they arranged a room for me before check in time which I really appreciated not to wait for the room. The design of the hotel is absolutely great but sometimes a bit dark. I loved my bathroom ( spacious and awesome design) and the room was tall as well. Breakfast was included and nothing I... More

We stayed three days at Hotel Teatro. Very good location right next to São Bento railway station and Praça da Liberdade. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. There is a small fitness space with a good view at the top. The only flaw is the lack of brightness of the hotel whose decor has dark colors everywhere... More

On balance, four out of five, but it was very nearly only an average score of three. On the plus side - location, staff, breakfast and price. On the minus side, noisy rooms at the front of the hotel and the overall quirkiness of the hotel. It is right in the centre of Porto only a few minutes walk from... More

We stayed at Hotel Teatro for three days in February 2015. The rooms are nice and clean and the personnel was extremely helpful, showing us the places to visit in Porto on a map for 10 minutes or so. A very pleasant surprise was when we found a free bottle of champagne and a litte cake in our room, for... More

A fine, average-level hotel with little to complain of. The location is great and the front office staff really friendly. The breakfasts were good although they need a speedier toaster. The hotel is in a converted theatre so has lots of curtains on the hallway walls and a dramatically underlit atmosphere. The room we had was small but adequate, facing... More

I've stayed 3 nights in this nice hotel thanks to a good deal on "booking". The hotel is really close to all the main attractions of Porto. You can enjoy the meal in the restaurant's hotel (Palco) or taste a good glass of porto red wine in the bar near to the reception. Rooms are nice and very confortable but... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in February 2015. I was with my boyfriend and another 3 couples. We all thought the hotel had a great location, (close to the bars, shops and tourist attractions). We took a metered taxi from the airport, which cost about 25euros per taxi, the journey was around 20-30 minutes. There was another group checking... More
