I wasn't as impressed with this hotel as others have been, but it was certainly good value and has some very positive points. On the upside, the owner is very welcoming and knowledgeable about Porto and the surrounding area, and goes out of his way to help e.g. offering lifts into town, which were most welcome. The port and cake... More

A quirky hotel. The rooms are fairly basic, but have everything you need. Bed is comfy, and each room is individually decorated. There was port and delicious cake in the room on arrival. Breakfast was simple but did the job and was tasty. The owner was what made it. He was so helpful with places to go, things to do... More

Aghostino (proprietor) is amazing-makes you feel like family and has awesome advice on local sites and food. Hotel is great and in a great location, along with free parking-a huge plus as we drove to Porto. We highly recommend this hotel and Aghostino is an outstanding ambassador to Porto and Portugal as a whole

Arthuro is making the whole place something very very special! Do not think of grand luxery places, with running servants in white jackets with big golden buttons! No you are very welcome like a "private guest" in a cosy home by Arthuro and his unbelievable staf! Arthuro is probably the best "tousist buro" in the city.... In the room you'll... More

We stayed three night here and were guided to places to visit we had not thought of. Agostino "knows everything" and is readily willing to share his vast knowledge with you. Particular routes to take, places to eat, and so on. Rooms are smallish and the bed in our room somewhat lumpy and short, but on balance, a very pleasant... More

If you are looking for a place to stay in Porto, stop searching and book your room here. I took a trip to Porto for 3 nights and I could not have asked for a better experience at this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean with nice bathrooms. They are a decent size and a great deal for... More

We stayed here on new years eve as we wanted somewhere quiet to sleep after our night out celebrating. There is nothing else to add to all the previous reviews and they are all spot on !! The owner is indeed a great host and a mine of information. Comfy warm room ( owner had put a heater in the... More

Our first meeting with Agostinho, the owner was an absolute pleasure. His approach was very welcoming, his understanding of our needs was second to none and his suggestions for spending our two days in Porto were excellent. We arrived earlier than expected, and he welcomed us with a great explanation of the city and highlights, suggested a great local place... More

This lovely family-owned residence really embodies the phrase "a home away from home". There is a very warm and welcoming ambience to this place, much of which is due to Agostinho Ribeiro, the owner and manager. And what a welcome: home-made sponge cake, hot coffee and a small bottle of Port wine! He even carried my bags up to my... More

The highlight of our stay was the care and pride of the hotelier. No sooner had we entered to register than he presented a map of Porto with highlights, bus routes, and more. He then handed us a bottle of port from his family's estate and cake, which we enjoyed in our room. We took him up on his travel... More
