So much good and so much bad. What can I say. The view was unbeatable. We stayed in the apartment that is attached to the winery. The rooms were freezing cold and no internet. The tour by the owner Cesar of his vineyard and cellar where he makes Port and other wines was amazing. The food was nothing to write... More

If you love a B&B feel, some great wine and the nicest host family, then the small, antique-laden Quinta do Marrocos is your place, Nestled in a quiet section off the Douro River, enjoy a homey, relaxing atmosphere.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Cesar and his two daughters, Rita and Catarina at their home in the Douro Valley near Peso da Regua. The "farm" is a vineyard, I think he said it was about 40 acres, we were there in the off season, so we were the only guests, although they have 4 rooms and a guest... More

What a great vineyard and farmhouse! It’s a little challenging to find off the main road (especially as it’s get a little darker out). We missed the main entrance initially, but we eventually made it! We had pre-arranged to have a “farmhouse” dinner, so it was waiting for us when we arrived. I’m not sure how many guest rooms they... As part of 3 week visit to Portugal we spent 3 nights in the Douro which, thanks to Cesar and Rita, were the highlight of our trip. On our first night we enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Quinta accompanied by first class wine and port. The Douro is one of the most picturesque places on earth and Q de... More

We stayed overnight. We were greeted by Caesar, the owner, and guard dog, Marrocos. Rita prepared a wonderful dinner followed by a plentious breskfast. The scheduling went smoothly. The view of the Duoro was great.

We were 6 total.. 4 in the separate house and 2 in the main house. My 21 and 23 year old daughters loved exploring the grounds with the dog. Very relaxing stay.. The family was so nice and dinner was amazing... So much food and wine... I can't wait to come back again!

We stayed two nights in December 2013 at this beautiful Quinta. We caught the train from Porto which has to be one of the most beautiful train trips in the world. We arrived at the Quinta which is a rustic style farmhouse- and beautifully heated and decorated indoors. We were greeted so warmly and spent a lot of time chatting... More

We were under the impression that it was a family/farm atmosphere & really didn't experience that. There were no inside common places where you could go to sit and visit with other travellers or the owners. The accomodation was fine and the dinner there was good.

We stayed at Quinta de Marrocos at the beginning of October and were therefore able to participate (for a fee) in their harvest activities which meant a daylong personal tour with the owner, Cesar Siquiera, which included a tour of the vineyard (we could not pick grapes as it was raining), a close-up visit to the wine production facilities, wine-tasting,...
