Nothing shy of perfect beauty! The place has nature and good taste. I was really amazed. Great gardens, awesome rooms and the nicest staff! Thank you José for making our stay so much fun. Thawing is to die for.

Somewhat out of the way from Guimaraes, but once you've got to the place, you find yourself in fine country home surroundings. Do not go there if you are only satisfied by recent state of the art technology in the hotel business, but rush to Case de Sezim if you like staying at a place full of art, antiques and... More

Nice very old wine castle/farmhouse which is the ideal place to unwind back in time. You feel like having a room in a museum, historical 12th century building which was a present of Portugals first king. Very quiet night, bathroom a bit old but fully working and super decoration No evening meal as we did not book it, but the... More

I almost don't want Casa de Sezim to become better known, but must add a review of this incredible place. In fact, I am writing this from the veranda outside Room #9 (the only one with direct access to the veranda, so you want it if you can get it, especially if traveling with a small child, as we are)... Livelly peaceful place, the owner makes a great vino verde wine (try the 2013 millesime, it won the silver medal at Lyon wine concours). Lots of attention for guests and excellent breakfast with freshvorange juice. We stayed two nights and loved it !

A beautiful, wonderful, small, old time, rural, romantic, special palace. We have just found out a trailer in utube. Wonderful wellcome with a bottle of white wine, canopied beds, books, old time veranda where u eat breakfast in the summer while looking at a garden and a small cool nice pool. Quiet.green and intimate place. We loved every moment of our... More

We stayed at the Casa de Sezim at the beginning and also at the end of a recent 2 week trip to Portugal and it was far and away the best place we experienced. It combines the services of a high quality hotel with the intimacy and local flavor of a B&B. First off, the room was excellent. Very large,... More

Casa de Sezim is a true discovery and not to be missed if visiting this region of Portugal or near by in Porto or Guimaraes. As possibly one of only a few locations on the planet that is still owned by the 30th generation of the same family, the history alone makes any visit very worthwhile without mentioning the excellent... if you want to experience the historic beautiful quinta - this is the place. well-run, with period furniture and decor, great breakfast, attentive to all your needs and questions. You can sit around the fireplace at night and have a glass of wine. One can hardly imagine all the work behind keeping and running this magnificent property - we admire... More

A great option near Guimaraes and not far from Porto. An impressive XIX century property with rooms housing traditional decoration, panoramic wallpapers, and very charming bedrooms. José, the manager, was extremely attentive and friendly providing hints of the regions and attending all our requests.
