A bit out of the way but that should be the goal for anyone coming here. A beautiful place in a very cute little village. The rooms are spacious and the shared areas are roomy and comfortable. While they do offer wifi, it is only in a small common area. Breakfast is a little sparse with some cereal and bread,... More

A Lagosta Perdida (the lost lobster) is one of those rare places that you come across that ticks every box. After a wonderful drive over the hills you find yourself in a picture postcard village, where time looks as if it has stood still. After a warm welcome by Robert my wife and I were shown to our bedroom, which... More

The entire village is cobbled with no asphalt in sight, a timeless atmosphere hangs among the kind and welcoming locals and the views of the natural park are spectacular. Robert is kind and welcoming, if you are interested he can easily impart his great knowledge of the surrounding area, you are then calmly shown your room and given a brief... More

Following a recce in 2014 we booked a party of eight in for four nights. We walked three days, for 5 hours, from the hotel and received excellent advice as to the detail of the routes we chose. It is a huge advantage to be able to walk directly from the hotel itself. The rooms have all the modern conveniences... More

In a lovely little stone built village, what a surprise as you enter A Lagosta Perdida. Built around a central well lit well the three storey renovation is beautiful. Our room on the first floor looked into the village and even had its own entrance via a staircase from street level. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom well... More

We sheepishly arrived in this lovely small village on our motorbike, after a journey in terrible rain, that left us very wet! Robert was there to welcome us and immediately took us to his huge garage to park up and keep the bike dry. Robert showed us to our beautiful, rustic room with village view, with balcony, which came in very useful for drying our... More

A Lagosta Perdida is a modernised old stone house nestled in Montesinho, a small mountain village that time forgot hidden in the Montesinho National Park about 30 mins drive from Braganca. This ancient village, with its narrow cobbled streets and alleys and old stone houses could be a film set. Its location is stunning surrounding by pristine countryside. Robert, the... More

. Wonderful traditional house which has been renovated to boutique hotel standard, whilst retaining the charm and relaxed atmosphere of a friendly home. Our lofty ceilinged bedroom was beautiful with tea/coffee facilities, a huge bed and balcony. Our delectable dinner was served by convivial host (Robert) as was our generous and delicious breakfast. The village is extraordinary and enchanting, as... More

We have just stayed 4 nights in this charming guest-house/hotel. Beautifully and stylishly restored but never "stuffy". An attentive but relaxed and friendly welcome from Robert and his family - it felt like a very beautiful version of home! We did several walks in the stunning hills and valleys around Montesinho, meeting almost no-one. Robert provided detailed advice and maps,... More

It's like stepping back in time, this really characterful place has been restored lovingly and carefully by the present owners. The rooms have touches of wooden beams and remnants of old stone walls, and the whole place is charming. Our room was comfortably furnished, with a small seating area, and modern bathroom, equipped with kettle. However, this time of the... More
