We have been touring Spain and Portugal for 2 weeks and stayed in paradors and pousadas which have been either a convent or monastery in a previous life and compared to them the Pousada de Bragança is modern. However I would describe it as an amazing time capsule. It was built in 1959 and looks the same now as it... More

Braganca is a very sleepy town with a stunning castle and you can view it all from the balconies in the rooms from this modern, but classic, building. The rooms are ample, clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast is good but not spectacular buffet. Service was efficient and very polite. The wi.fi. work well and the parking is free. A... More

This was one of 3 Pousadas we stayed in whilst touring Northern Portugal and possibly the one we liked the least. There is nothing wrong with the hotel, it is clean and modern, possibly a little too modern. The rooms are very big and spotlessly clean with great facilities. It is about a 10 minute walk into town and has... More

This Pousada is not an historical Castle or Convent like many others. It is a modern building. The staff are excellent, courteous and helpful in every way.The room was very comfortable but lacked a safe . Convenient to the City with its Castle and historic attractions

The Pousada is a relatively modern building with large rooms which have great views over the valley to Braganca castle. The hotel staff were always polite and attentive. We did not eat at the hotel's restaurant however; I can vouch for the quality and selection at breakfast. It's about 10 minutes walk to the centre of Branganca.

My wife and I decided to go for a two-day trip to the North of Portugal and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to stay at a well-known "Pousada". Pousadas in Portugal are known for their exclusive locations and high-class service. They are a part of the local history. One would expect other elements to follow such a... More

The room is a good size and the restaurant is wonderful. Went back to the hotel in the early afternoon after exploring the area only to find the sitting room-bar-fireplace completely booked until dinner with a children's party. No advance warning giving to hotel guests and you couldn't access the lounge area until late that night. We had wanted to... More

Classical Pousada facing the castle in Braganca that is beautifully lit at night. Rooms, lounge and restaurant overlook the castle. Particular highlight is the food served in the restaurant - Oscar Goncalves is the chef - a young man with real talent. He can be found as https://www.facebook.com/oscar.geadas?fref=ts on Facebook. Stayed at the hotel with a few members of my... More

This pousada has amazing views of the town and historic walled city of Braganca. The rooms are wonderful, clean, comfortable, with all amenities. The lounge area was inviting with a lovely fire, and the restaurant is superb. What made it very special, however, was the wonderful attention and advice of Sr. Antonio, who took the time to chart an itinerary... More

Visiting this posada as part of an extensive motorbike tour of Spain and Portugal, we found it to be excellent in every way. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were friendly and unobtrusively efficient and the two brothers who manage it are obviously determined to ensure a great experience for all their guests. Attention to detail was spot on, including... More
