Just what we wanted no fuss no frills just clean and able to sort our own food out when we wanted. Only thing missing was a kettle but we were not bothered Staff at reception were very helpful and the hotel is right around the corner from the cathedral. Shops and restaurants literally within a few steps of the front... More

We had a great stay here. The room was absolutely spotless. The beds were very comfortable, however the pillows could be better and one or two more would have been nice. The shower was VERY noisy because the shower head was missing the fixture that allows you to adjust the water, so it comes out like a waterfall, but it... More

Very well appointed premises. Lovely room. Pleasant and efficient service. Pity the stay was only one night (unexpected visit due to getting off-loaded from a flight!) But i'd stay there again! Anytime.

Having been on a delayed flight, I checked whilst in the UK that there was a 24 hour reception and even sent an email to the one contact means I had for the hotel (no telephone number was given with the booking), to let them know I was going to be late arriving. When I finally arrived at just before... More

We stayed at this wonderful hotel in rooms 204 and 206 and had a truly wonderful lovely stay. We didn't want to leave. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel has a lovely view to a typical Madeira street and the most amazing thing about this hotel is the location, it is close to everything you need.... More

We would recommend room 208 for its natural light and quiet street view. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and were able to advise us about local taxi services. Lovely to wake up to the gentle sound of the Cathedral bell. There is also an excellent little cafe directly opposite the hotel entrance.

For the price we paid I was not expecting that much and was very pleasantly surprised... As it was off-peak (first week of Feb 2015), the Manageress offered to upgrade us to a 'superior' suite. We had room 412 with a lovely few of the old streets beside us and in front of us. Facilities in the room were very... More
