My wife and I recently spent a week here and thought it wonderful. Situated around a 15 minute walk to the town centre the walk is not too difficult though we did take a taxi on the return. Allow the taxi to run on the meter the charge will be around 4/6 euros, agree a price before will be a... More

Had a lovely ten days here. Room spacious and very clean, with great views of the harbour. All staff extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast very filling with lovely selection of fresh rolls every morning, served by a lovely friendly lady. Do have to go up a hill to hotel, but advantage is the lovely views and... More

Based on the Tripadvisor reviews we booked the Pina, and we were quite happy with the outcome. The accomodation is basic to say the least, but it is a wonderful location close to the centre of town. If you want the concrete jungle that could be anywhere in the world, then opt for the tourist area at the Lido, but... More

This small, family run hotel suited us perfectly. Located on a hill (where isn't!?) but not so far that we couldn't at least walk down to town and the myriad of restaurants. A taxi back was around 5 Euros so didn't break the bank. The en-suite rooms were large and spotless, the staff ever-friendly and helpful, the small pool with... More

Anywhere in Funchal is going to be up a hill, but Pina is only a 4 Euro taxi ride from the centre if your legs are too tired. Get a good view of the port and Saturday night fireworks in Summer, enjoy a decent size room with balcony or tiny patch of grass, enjoy a beer by the small pool.... More

If you do not want to stay in the concrete jungle which is the Lido along Estrada Monumental but stay in the heart of Funchal then this is where you should stay; from the moment we booked we knew we and chosen well; we had a welcoming email from Micaela the receptionist saying how pleased the owners were that we... we stayed in this hotel two weeks and enjoyed it immensly, the service was good the aura of the place was excellent. It was extremely good value for money. the walk from Funchal was the best type of excersize one could hope for. the breakfast could be filled with more vegetables and less bread!°

My wife and me, we were very lucky in Residencial Pina. Very friendly people! If they can do something for you, they do it with a smile. Accommodation was OK and very clean. Good breakfast. Possibility to place your hired car there (for free). Thank you to Micaela and others!

Just got back from a week at the Residencial Pina and it was simply perfect. Very friendly, spotlessy clean and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Stunning veiw over the port and surrounding hills. Room was a good size and even had the luxury of a bath with plenty of hot water. Can't wait to go again - thanks Linda and... More

We found this B&B from the reviews on TripAdvisor and were very pleased that we had. It is pretty basic, no frills - which is what we wanted for our 7 days', mainly walking holiday (just back!) Micaela is a very helpful hostess, speaks perfect English and the rest of the staff are very helpful. Our room had a great... More
