I stayed at Colombo this August with my mom. Our impression was good since the first day, because we asked whether we could choose a room and actually it was possible. We preferred to stay in the main building because it had a nice balcony and the reception service 24 hours. We also had a fridge in our room, which... More

Very affordable place, it does not require credit card to book... Very well situated, close to everything, like the marina, Dolce Vita(the mall), a series of restaurants and local comerce... The rooms are simple, and clean... The breakfast is simple but comes included... It has a cool, old, scary elevator... The wireless signal is too weak to use... On the... More

My husband and I knew that the residencial colombo was not going to be like a 5*star hotel, but i was expecting to be a little bit better. The furniture is very old, didnt had shampoo, the lights outside the rooms works only when theres movement, and it doesnt stay more than a minute. There should be a vending machine... More

Found the hotel via booking website and chose it causevof the reasonable price. The rooms are good and spacious, with wooden floor and (at least the one i have) big balcony with a bale and chair to sit in and relax. Hotel is located on a busy street yet i do not think anyone spands a day in a hotel... More

Nice, funny old place right in the heart of Funchal, close to independent shops and restaurants. Best of all, close to the bus stops that took us up into the mountains for the most amazing walks along the famous levadas! Colombo is quirky, cheap, international, no unnecessary mod-cons.

Great location in the centre of the city, attractions easily accessible by walk. Furniture a bit old, but for the price it is acceptable. Nice roof terrace for breakfast, which is simple but nice and everything is fresh including local fruits. Walls are not soundproof, so rooms can be quite noisy because of the lift and the staircase

Good evening, Thanks for your honest opinion. The team of Residencial Colombo would like to excuse for the lack of attention and the improper quality of service that was provided. Unfortunately, and regarding the high season, we were not able to give you a better room. Nevertheless, we are constantly working on improving of our facilities and services and are... More

The Residencial Colombo is in a great location, should you want to be close to downtown, near bus stops and the Old Town, and if you want to out-and-about rather than spending time by a hotel swimming pool. The reception staff are very helpful, and speak fluent English. On several occasions we asked the young lady on the late afternoon... More

We spent a week in this travel hotel, room was small but clean with good roomservice every day, friendly staff at reception. Breakfast was simple and same every day, but with nice view on the top terrace. The best is the location of the hotel, few steps from Marina and city center, also shoping mall is very close. Location was... More

We went for the flower festival, so wanted something in town where we could walk to events, without a huge uphill hike back. We are seniors, so one consideration was the elevator. But when we checked in, they took us next door, to a 3rd floor room and no elevator. Room was also tiny, not as pictured on website at... More
