My mother & I had 2 rooms (5 & 12) here in October 2014. The location is excellent as you can walk in to the centre of Funchal in less than 10mins. The property is well maintained and the owners very friendly and obliging. The rooms are a decent size with fans in the room. On a few occasions air... More

This has to be one of the nicest places we have had the pleasure of staying.Typical Portuguese style rooms but thoroughly Clean. The gaffer and his wife could not have been any more helpful and thoroughly pleasant. It really would have been hard to meet two nicer people. At breakfast time if you left the table hungry then it was your own fault... We stayed at Vila Teresinha on our first visit to Funchal 3 years ago, and were delighted to be able to stay here again on this trip. The owners are very friendly and helpful and have many excellent suggestions for things to see and do (and eat!) on the island. The rooms are comfortable, and most have views out over... More

This is a small and friendly hotel .This year we booked in time to secure a room with a private balcony which made us feel like we were in a private villa though the large shared terrace that we used on our last visit was never busy .we made good use of the shared fridge for afternoon refreshments after Levada... Visited the Teresinha late March and I couldn't have picked better. The Guest House is only a five minute walk from the old town of Funchal and has lovely views over the rooftops towards the sea. This does mean there is an uphill walk to the place but unless you have walking difficulties it's not a problem (Funchal is quite... More

A very pleasant and good-value guesthouse, conveniently close to Funchal centre. The hosts (husband & wife) were convivial and spoke excellent English. My room was old fashioned but comfortable; some of the wood panelling was showing its age a bit and my bedside lamp was out, but the beds were good, the linen clean, and the whole place was solid,... A truly friendly place just above the city center in Funchal. Simple, clean and great value. Some rooms seems to have a view over the city. If you stay in a room without a view there is a large common terrace.

We stayed here for the second time. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is five minutes walk away from the center of Funchal. Breakfast is lovely, including self made cake and marmelade. On our last day we had to leave early in the morning and got an early beakfast and even some sandwhiches for the way to... More

We really enjoyed our stay. The view from the balcony was great and well worth the price difference. It's an easy walk into the center of Funchal and Agostinho has very helpful restaurant suggestions. We had the best breakfasts of our two week trip to Portugal. I would definitely stay here again.

Agostinho and Catarina are charming hosts and were able to give us advice about things to do. We were in room 5 which has its own balcony; this gives a very pleasant view over the rooftops to the bay and eastern slopes of the hillside. Especially enjoyed the shower which has floods of hot water. Beds are comfortable. We liked... More
