Lovely hotel staff excellent. Although there was building works going on it did not spoil our stay. We opted for half board and found the meals overall were good. The roads to the hotel were breathtaking, vary narrow and winding but it was all part of the experience. Madeira itself was overall a lovely island and like most places some... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We were in Madeira for 14 nights in total. In our first week we had a car and it was a case of touring 2 nights and move on. We had booked our hotels quite early in the year (February to be precise) and we did it through Bookings.com who have never... More

We spent a night there walking down from the Pico Ruvio track. We took taxi from Curral because the hill is really steap. The hotel was very nice, luxury and modern room with something like an extra veranda with a lovely view on the tops of the mountains. Unfortunatelly, this year the hotel is in a recontruction, adding a new... More

We stayed here for two nights in a double room with a balcony. Unbelievable views. The second night was a bit noisy from surrounding rooms. Would recommend the walk down to Curral das Freiras with a taxi or bus back up. Restaurant OK, we opted for half board but in restrospect would have b&b so we could choose from the... More

Situated all alone on a mountain peak 1098 metres above sea level, this is one of the most spectacular hotel situations I have ever seen. Bedrooms are on two floors, with the upper ones having (marginally) the better views but with twin beds, while the lower floor rooms have double beds and a large open balcony area. From all rooms... Everyone else has adequately described the stunning location and fantastic views so I will just add that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We managed to get a really cheap deal which made it incredibly good value for quality of the hotel. There aren't many additional facilities at the Hotel which was fine for us because we wanted to... The hotel is strategically situated next to a "miradouro".It´s in the middle of the island, what is it perfect if you hire a car because you can drive around, however it´s not exit road to the north because the road ends there. Very hilly island with some narrow roads, but you have a new tunnel which connect most of the... More

This hotel is located on a ridge overlooking a small village ringed by tall mountains. Our rooms and the restaurant enjoy this fabulous view. The drive up the winding road is equally spectacular. The room decor is modern and pleasant and had a glass- fronted sun lounge as well as a balcony from which to enjoy the view. Given its... More

Stayed for one night, you dont need any longer really, drive up from Funchal was fun !! take it steady and watch for coaches on the final stretch as its narrow with passing places. Hotel was very good standard with great balcony looking over the valley, evening meal was freshly prepared beef on a skewer and fish with garlic bread.... More

We stayed 6 nights in July 2013 in this beautiful hotel with breathtaking views. Rooms are very clean and the staff very friendly. The restaurant offers the best garlic bread in Madeira but meals & drinks should be slightly cheaper. The hotel is very quiet & relaxing. I will definitely come back for those amazing views.
