General Small hotel, set in pretty gardens with a lovely pool (although it was too cold for a swim). Room Twin beds and cot space, bathroom (with bath), tv, plenty of wardrobe space and balcony. Very clean rooms. Breakfast A choice of three cereals, bread, toast, fruit, honey, hams, cheese, hot option (mix of egg, mushroom, bacon), a different freshly... More

We stayed at this charming b&b over New Year but our stay didn't get off to the best start when we were told that they were over booked for our first night's stay. Given we had booked through a tour operator this was somewhat of a surprise. However, the response of the staff should stand as an example to other... More

We had read lots of the reviews and knew what to expect when we opened the green door! It's certainly a pleasant B & B and our room was a Superior garden room which was a loft extension. We enjoyed having a lounge area and two bedrooms one single and one double. A very spacious private balcony looked over the... More

We can only echo what previous reviewers have written. This is a wonderful little hotel, hidden away but beautifully private gardens to relax in. Many good restaurants nearby and well positioned for walking along the coastal path or into Funchal. We had a standard room which was fine, balcony rooms are larger. Great service and a wonderful, friendly atmosphere. A... More

If you dislike large sterile hotels with no character then this is the place for you. Hidden in a fairly busy suburb of Funchal and hidden behind a double metal gate, this hotel is, as described by many 'A Little Gem'. We went in early December and were delighted with the location. Only a 45 minute walk into the Centre... More

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of December. We chose the Vila Vicencia as we don't like large, impersonal hotels and were very pleased with our choice. We had a room with a terrace on the ground floor of the main building, which was nice and light, with lovely antique-style furniture. We had a shower in our... More

If you want a quiet, traditional hotel away from the high-rise jungle, this is the one for you. 3 charming madeira houses set in a small beautiful garden in the Lido area. It has a conservatory where an excellent buffet breakfast is served, and an outside pool. It is a pleasant 40 minute walk into Funchal but buses are yards... More

All you can see from the road is a small metal door but behind is a little treasure of a hotel. Quiet and friendly family run hotel. Not many rooms but very friendly staff can attend to your needs very quickly. Only bed and breakfast but plenty of restaurants near by at a reasonable price. Breakfast is buffet style served... This little Villa is really a work of art by Gena and the team. Everything about this place exudes calm. Every little detail of the place is lovely. Gena meets the guests and before they go to the room she explains a little about the place and if we need anything just to ask. She is there to say goodbye... More
