Absolutely lovely little hideaway. The room was immaculate and modernly decorated. The bathroom was the same. Lots of storage space in the lovely period furniture, but no safe in the room, and the safe at reception is not big enough for a laptop. I think we were expecting a little more 'self catering' than a kettle, two mugs and two... More

Stayed here for one week mid July this year and really enjoyed the experience. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. We had a room with balcony and sitting room and it was perfect for the two of us. There was a wee fridge for storing water and fruit (ok, yes, wine too). Two single beds pushed together but that was... More

Stayed between 9th - 16th June. Really ideal place, a quiet and peaceful retreat and located within easy walking distance of Funchal town centre or bus stops. Lido area just around the corner and plenty of good restaurants nearby. We had room 1, tucked away in the corner next to the pool. we plan to return to Maderia in a... More

We were so surprised when we walked through the gate to find such a charming little hideaway. Three villas in a lovely garden with a small pool and good quality pool furniture. The owner lives on the property and it is obvious that she takes a great pride in her garden and accommodation. We had a lovely modern room but... More

We have just returned from this lovely little hotel shut away behind the green metal gate. Located in the Lido area of Funchal, close to local shops, restaurants etc. We chose this hotel because it is one of Thomson's 'small and friendly' and it certainly didn't disappoint on that score. Although surrounded by hotels, restaurants etc, once inside the gate... More

Hidden behind a locked gate this little oasis was delightful. It was clean, comfortable and the owner and her staff very friendly. Breakfast was simple but there were choices. Cereal, cheese, meats, toast, even egg and bacon and a lovely cake each morning. Drinks were available during the day on an "honesty" system if you wanted them. There is a... More

In 2013 we went to this Quinta for a week and it was wonderful. So we booked for 2weeks in 2014-same dates, same room. What a difference a year makes!! When we arrived we were told we could not have the same room despite reassuring us by email that it would be OK. So we were given a different room... More

I stayed here in 2012 on a solo trip. Funchal itself is a beautiful area of Madeira, going to see Nun's Valley is highly recommended as well as the Royal Botanical Gardens. The hotel itself was good, it was slightly older and simpler in style than I expected it to be, it also seemed to attract and be more suited... More

We stayed at the Vila Vicencia in June 2014 for a week. We had booked the upgraded superior room as we got an web deal on it. However, when we arrived the reception desk were very apologetic as the room was unavailable for the first night. We were disappointed at first but the room they had given us was fine.... More

Excellent oasis in a very good position. we were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Staff very obliging, every where really clean. Breakfast was good, a very good choice hot and cold choices, and to sit in the beautiful garden was bliss. We will definitely be back for a return visit very soon
