We booked a fairly last minute holiday to Madeira through Thompsons and after a quick scan through the brochure we used gut feeling ( usually works) to select the package that included this hotel. the staff. Rooms and breakfast were all excellent. If you want to do your own thing (which we did) it's just the job. As the previous... More

I can not speak highly enough of this hidden gem behind the metal gates. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return later in the year, V V is clean and well presented, It is cosy and informal like a good B&B not some soulless concrete pile. The Beer/Tea/Coffee/Cake honesty system is nice, The staff are low key but very... More

the week we have just spent at the Vila Vicenzia on our first visit to Madeira was a very enjoyable experience. Attentive staff at all times made sure all went well. Clean spacious rooms en suite, dining conservatory area, pool and a garden that must be a flowering delight in the coming months. The beautiful Madeiran Villas (3) add a lot... More

We booked through Thomsons as part of a package as we'd never been to Madeira before, but did our own thing for car-hire and excursions etc, and as others have noted, three local buses pass almost by the door and both tourist open-topped buses stop there too. We checked it out on Trip Advisor before booking and as usual the... More

Lovely location, a little oasis handy for all activities. Breakfasts good with hot food choices daily. Homely style with friendly helpful staff. Would definitely return if in Madeira. Ideal for promenade walk and local buses into Funchal town, though walking is an option. Had a wonderful room with balcony, ideal for sunrise and sunset. Bathroom was serviceable, but could have... Wonderful hidden oasis. Me or my wife had never been to Madeira before so not sure what to expect. This Villa type accommodation was hidden among the bigger hotels in this resort area. The small team of staff were always pleasant and helpful, Rooms very clean and flat screen tv. We had the basic room with no balcony but were... More

General Small hotel, set in pretty gardens with a lovely pool (although it was too cold for a swim). Room Twin beds and cot space, bathroom (with bath), tv, plenty of wardrobe space and balcony. Very clean rooms. Breakfast A choice of three cereals, bread, toast, fruit, honey, hams, cheese, hot option (mix of egg, mushroom, bacon), a different freshly... More

We stayed at this charming b&b over New Year but our stay didn't get off to the best start when we were told that they were over booked for our first night's stay. Given we had booked through a tour operator this was somewhat of a surprise. However, the response of the staff should stand as an example to other... More

We had read lots of the reviews and knew what to expect when we opened the green door! It's certainly a pleasant B & B and our room was a Superior garden room which was a loft extension. We enjoyed having a lounge area and two bedrooms one single and one double. A very spacious private balcony looked over the... More

We can only echo what previous reviewers have written. This is a wonderful little hotel, hidden away but beautifully private gardens to relax in. Many good restaurants nearby and well positioned for walking along the coastal path or into Funchal. We had a standard room which was fine, balcony rooms are larger. Great service and a wonderful, friendly atmosphere. A... More
