The cost of the hotel was what made our break possible. I compared reviews for similarly priced hotels on Tripadvisor and was put off them all. What we got for our money was superb. Room: Double Superior B+B (only slightly more expensive) with balcony and facing garden (recommended). It was actually more like a suite with separate double bedroom and... More

The hotel was really lovely. Very friendly staff who always went out of their way to cater to our needs. The buffet breakfast was varied and with fresh, well cooked food. The rooms were of impressive size, with only the 'double bed' being two single's put together as a slight disappointment. However, the complimentary bus was late by at least... More

We have just returned from a week with our 2 grandsons and have to say we had a really good stay here. All of the staff were excellent and could not be more helpful. We found the breakfast to be good with a good choice and quantity. The pool and gardens are very well kept and we woud be happy... More

Aesthetics and architectural canons have certainly changed in the last 12 years since the hotel opened, but this will not prevent you from having a wonderful time at Jardins d'Ajuda. I spent there a week with my husband and we'll be delighted: very friendly, smiling, multilingual staff at the reception and the restaurant, nice room with balcony and kitchenette, in-... More

Visited with a party of 3 for the third week in August 2014. The hotel is very well situated about 2 miles outside Funchal city centre, close to the Forum Madeira shopping mall and lots of good restaurants. We were accommodated in 2 apartments on the 7th floor. The apartments were clean and functional with a double bed, lounge, patio... More

This is the 3rd holiday here and once again a great holiday with fantastic staff and great food. A courtesy bus into town and back runs hourly The Forum shopping complex is close by and lots of other tourist shops. The staff cannot do enough to help and go out of their way to help you. You are made to... More

The negative comments on Trip Advisor nearly put us off. I am so glad they didn't in the end as we found this hotel excellent and will return. The spacious suite we had included a nice firm sofa and armchair plus a kitchenette so we had the flexibility of preparing some food at home. Good quality chairs on balcony. Breakfast... More

We had to stay one night in this hotel, when our flight was delayd because of the strong winds and closing of Madeira airport. Check in went smoothly and we got our room in 6th floor. The hotel is terribly worn out and it needs updating. Our room had terrible mould smell. Bath towels were like postcard size! Two twin... More

My family and I have just come back from a week in Funchal, Madeira staying at the Jardin d'ajuda hotel. It is classed as a 4* hotel and although I wouldn't quite rate it so high it is certainly up there with the top end of 3*. It is large and spacious with an indoor and outdoor pool. The weather...
