My partner and I are not long back from a weeks stay here at this hotel! He had a double room suite with pool and garden view! Very nice to see Funchal town in the distance! Food very good! Also amazing croissants! Staff friendly and helpful! Swimming area clean! Enjoyed watching the gardeners at work every day from the pool... More

Hotel is placed about 4km from Funchal city center. There is free-of-charge but that can take you in both ways (hotel-Funchal) in every hour. But it is rather not punctual. You can also use Horarios do Funchal - public transportation which is very convenient. Hotel is clean and service is very well. Restaurant serves tasty breakfasts but there are only... More

We booked this hotel a bit last minuet, we contacted the hotel directly and they were very helpful,we also then added our daughter on the day we were flying and agin they were more than accommodating. The hotel is spotlessly clean with a lovely outdoor pool area and coffee bar. Inside, wow, lovely spa pool, lovely and warm, sauna and... More

We have just returned home after our 25-day stay at this Hotel. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly and were always treated with respect. On arrival at the hotel we were booked in by a smiling receptionist and given our key. As we wanted to use the safe in the room we happily paid the price requested... More

We have stayed in this hotel for a week last September,at departure I gave them the comment form that I completed with my comments, and since then no one contacted me to apologise for all the inconvenience we had. I work in the hotel industry for 5 years now, thats why I know that the general manager supposed to answer all... More

you could tell the hotel had been good quality at some time, with the plush wood interior looking scratched and worn. The soft furnishings were stained and drab. the room was large and airy, without any unpleasant smells, and kept clean especially in the bathroom, which was spic and span. The corridor to the lift wa dark, and the sensor... More

The cost of the hotel was what made our break possible. I compared reviews for similarly priced hotels on Tripadvisor and was put off them all. What we got for our money was superb. Room: Double Superior B+B (only slightly more expensive) with balcony and facing garden (recommended). It was actually more like a suite with separate double bedroom and... More

The hotel was really lovely. Very friendly staff who always went out of their way to cater to our needs. The buffet breakfast was varied and with fresh, well cooked food. The rooms were of impressive size, with only the 'double bed' being two single's put together as a slight disappointment. However, the complimentary bus was late by at least... More

We have just returned from a week with our 2 grandsons and have to say we had a really good stay here. All of the staff were excellent and could not be more helpful. We found the breakfast to be good with a good choice and quantity. The pool and gardens are very well kept and we woud be happy... More

Aesthetics and architectural canons have certainly changed in the last 12 years since the hotel opened, but this will not prevent you from having a wonderful time at Jardins d'Ajuda. I spent there a week with my husband and we'll be delighted: very friendly, smiling, multilingual staff at the reception and the restaurant, nice room with balcony and kitchenette, in-... More
