I think it's not a 5* hotel, but a good 4*. The location is some km from centre of Funchal but there are free shuttle bus to centre every 30 min. Great hotel in a really nice location right on the sea as long as you have booked a sea view room. Breakfast was a great buffet with plenty of choice. Very clean amd comfortable hotel with very freindly staff. The walk to funchal is not easy at all so suggest take the courtesy shuttle that works really well.
