We stayed 7 nights at this hotel from 2 April booked through Saga and the hotel is really a little gem. We were in room 212 and had absolutely no complaints about the room (apart from a small point of an intermittent fault on a light over one of the twin beds), it was large, comfortable, beautifully appointed, very clean... After talking about visiting Madeira for a long time, and reading hotel reviews on trip advisor, my Mum and I booked this hotel for 6 nights. On arrival, the reception staff gave us everything we needed, from information about the hotel to trips and visits we could take around the island during our stay. Though we were early, we were... Our usual 10 day early break was spoiled slightly by the rather strange April weather. The hotel and staff were as usual a pleasure to be with feeling like friends and the many improvements which included glazing all around the outside restuaurant area and improved bathroom lighting added to our experience. We like this smaller hotel situated amongst its large... More

It is great that staff remember you, always give a warm welcome and are keen to talk to you and help in anyway they can. The standard of care and cleanliness is as excellent as ever!! It was our first time staying in March, even though the sea views are magnificent, had asked for a partial sea view this time... More

Lovely room and view. Excellent breakfast, dinners good. Room cleanliness excellent but sometimes not made up till late afternoon. Reception very helpful. Weather disappointing. Will not return to island as we came on a walking holiday and you can only walk in the lavadas. When we researched beforehand found no mention of all lavadas having sections where the path is... Stayed for one week in February 2014. As ever the hotel was spotless, the staff very friendly and the food was very good, especially breakfast. We like the hotel because it is relatively small and well positioned with great views to the sea from the bedroom balcony and the terrace overlooking the sea where you can have breakfast. We would... We enjoyed our stay here a lot. We had sea-view and received absolutely fantastic panorama of sea and Funchal from a large balcony. Huge room. The design is rather simple but clean and convenient.Very comfortable bed with soft pillows, quiet sleep at nights. Good location, though quite a distance from the center of Funchal but nice start for exploring and... More

We have stayed in this smaller hotel two years running and enjoyed it very much. It is situated conveniently for buses but all the rooms face away from the road and are quiet. There are several good places to eat nearby. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed, with superb sea views. The staff were very friendly and helpful.... More

This is our second visit to this lovely hotel on a B&B basis as there are lots of restaurants around and about. The hotel is clean, rooms spacious, friendly staff, wonderful breakfast which was taken on the terrace most mornings, sunny balcony looking out to sea plus an indoor and outdoor pool - what more could you ask for.
