Just returned from three weeks at Regency Cliff, our first visit to Madeira, and we loved it. Clean, quiet location (bedroom walls a bit thin so noisy guests who cant close a door or drag chairs across balconies are a pain, but that will happen almost anywhere), great breakfast choice and amazing cliff top area to relax. Lovely staff. Not... More

This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and it just gets better and better - lovely room with a sea view, very clean, friendly staff , great breakfast in a quiet location - what more could you want. We only stayed B&B as there are some fantastic restaurants in the area.

Fantastic staff, always ready to help with a smile, even when we arrived at 2a.m! Rooms very spacious and comfortable with a large, well equipped bathroom, very comfortable beds and coffee making facilities. Good breakfast buffet. Dinner unexciting but quite good value for money. A lot of attention to detail - on my birthday an iced cake arrived and because... More

First time in Madeira we wanted to see a bit of the island and its character. Regency Cliff staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was outside the main town but just a €1.95 bus trip away (€1.25 if you loaded your ticket up with 10 trips at the bus station). It was also on the hop... More

Just returned from a lovely week at this hotel. Hotel is immaculate, both inside and outside areas. Very comfortable beds. Excellent location close to bus stop for buses into Funchal or Monte Gardens. A number of good restaurants close by. Comfortable sitting out areas. Bar prices very reasonable as were restaurant meals and excellent inexpensive snacks in the poolside bar.... More

Just spent two delightful weeks in this small, friendly, superior hotel. Have to agree with all previous comments about the fresh, constantly replenished, varied breakfasts (sometimes with fabulous home made raspberry compote or other home made treats such as fresh passion fruit juice and always with decent coffee!). Didn't try the evening meals as they seemed to offer good but... More

This is a lovely small hotel with only 59 rooms all of which have stunning sea views. Unlike other reviewers we were not fortunate enough to be upgraded but our standard room was spacious, well furnished with a huge comfortable king sized bed and it was wonderful waking up to seeing the sun rise over the sea. We had a... More

We stayed at the Regency Cliff for a week and had an excellent time, helped by the fact that the weather was perfect! We didn't use any of the hotel's facilities apart from the restaurant and bars, so that should be taken into account in considering this review. We had a lovely (upgraded) room with a sea-view balcony and window... More

I'm writing this review as I come to the end of my week on holiday here, and I would book the Regency Cliff as my first preference if I come back to Funchal in Madeira. The hotel is lovely and small (although it looks larger because it shares the building with flats, I think). The ambience of the hotel is... More
