The Hotel is lovely. We had a room with panoramic views of Funchal and at nights its lovely. The indoor pool is heated and also goes outside which is lovely. The reception area is huge, comfy, beautifully decorated. Breakfast was a good selection too! It is definitely worth the 5 stars. Its a 30 minute walk into Funchal but taxi's... More

Firstly I want to put this context in review. We were moved here from a sister hotel that was full (and which was a complete shambles). This place however immediately put is at ease due to the staff. On arrival they were organised and knowledgable providing a welcome contrast to their other place. That service continued throughout and was the... More

We were at the hotel for 9 days and it had everything we wished for as a couple: - it is small, charming and very cozy - it is 20 minutes walk down the hill by foot to the harbour and downtown Funchal - it is ansolutely price worthy and has a good offer of dining packages, for all those... More

It never ceases to amaze me how differing the various appraisals can be, which goes to show that each critique must be taken with a pinch of salt! Here is mine. We spent a week recently in Quinta das Vistas which has beautiful views overlooking Funchal and set in pretty gardens. The hotel is very clean and has comfortable furniture... More

I stayed 7 nights at Hotel Quinta das Vistas and was very happy with my choice of this hotel which definitly deserves its five stars. Large room and bathroom. Very friendly and serviceminded personell who contrubuted to a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. The La Belle restaurant is very good and the terrace gives you a magnificent view over Funchal.... 04/07/2014 What a great, No what a big joke this has been. Five star cobwebs and very dirty room in general, especially on the room terrace which my wife had to clean before we could sit out there. Woken @ 6:00 am by noise from the air conditioning system. Beds so hard it is better to sleep on the floor.... More

I have stayed here one week in a room with a panoramic view. - The room was surprisingly big in comparison to other 4/5 star hotels, with a big bathroom and a beatiful view towards Funchal and marina. It was clean, bright and had everything that one can expect from a luxury hotel. - It has an excellent both interiors... More

I've stayed here twice and loved it. The space it's very relaxing, the pool has a great view and the restaurant is excellent. From here we also book dinner at their other hotels and we loved the experience on their hotel up in the mountain as well with its mystic ambiance. I do have to say that the first time... More

This hotel has everything you could expect from a luxury hotel except the magical quality of warmth. The bar area in particular was very cramped and uncomfortable as if it had been stuck in a corridor out of desperation. Externally excellent, It was all too formal and distant. I simply didn't feel at home.

As a 5-star, you expect good services and, by and large, this hotel fulfilled the expectations; in addition (and a real plus), it was very quiet. Two quibbles: (a) the coffee at breakfast was truly terrible (we're Canadians and the coffee appeared to be aimed at the "Nescafe" taste of the predominantly UK guests); (b) it would be an improvement...
