Always lovely to return to this amazing place and be welcomed by the friendly staff. The location is one of the best in Funchal - walking distance to almost everything, sea access and sunny all day long. The food in the pool restaurant is very tasteful and reasonable. Of course an old building like this needs renovation, and something is... More

Despite the great location and view over the sea, this is an old and dated hotel screaming for an extreme makeover. Rooms are very large, with amazing balcony with view over the pool and the sea, but they are so badly furnished with old materials, the carpets were dirty, really bad. Also when arriving, the staff is not competent and... More

Briefly: Hotel has construction works right now, estimate to be done within 2 months according to them. No own access to the sea, the website shows pictures of a pier which is no longer there. Access to the sea is from hotel next to it. Some members of the staff are rude with customers. 4 Euros charge per day for... More

We had an apartment at the front of the hotel opposite the pool , the view from our balcony was stunning overlooking the ocean, The hotel is spotless , our room was cleaned daily and the other parts of the hotel where constantly cleaned. The breakfast was excellent but the only downside if any is that we where half board... More

After reading the many reviews on the Madeira Regency Club, both positive and negative, We decided to give it a go. So if this goes on a while it's mainly in answer to the negative reviews. From first arrival the reception staff were nothing less than friendly and very professional. We were greeted on arrival and directed to my pre-booked... More

Just returned from another wonderful time in our favourite place.I have written a number of reviews about the club and its fors and againsts, but some things NEVER change, the fantastic welcome we get when seeing old freinds amongst the staff and other members, the feeling of putting on a comfortable pair of slippers as you enter your room, the peace(although at the moment... We have been here four times and are still delighted with the hotel. At the time of our visit there were some repairs being carried out to severe storm damage from last winter, but this did not detract from the overall condition of the hotel, which I believe is almost 40 years old. The food in the restaurant by the... More

Last year we became full members of Regency Club despite some concerns from other members about the future . We had previously purchased 10 weeks and even though we pay an extra fee , we can clearly see lots of investment and improvements . The pier renovation is coming along and will look amazing when finished . Joel is without... More

We were horrified to go to down to the pool to find it is laid as gravel! ( photo attached) Who does this by a pool? Our little girl of 16 months barely fell over and scrapped all her knee another child skinned herself! As an adult you cannot walk on the surface without shoes. This is a reasonably priced... More

I joined the "Flexi Club" back in 2006 and stayed at the Regency club for a week, I then had to take another week based at the Regency Palace. What a difference. The Palace is too far out of town but the Club is just perfect, we came to regard the Club as "back home". It was comfortable and still... More
