If I had known that this quality of breakfast expects me, I wouldn't have come here. Everything else is O.K. for this price: average but clean rooms, quiet good location, helpful staff. It's a funny spectacle to see the gursts sitting in the lobby in the evenings fighting for wifi.

My wife and I have just returned from a two week stay at the Raga Hotel on a B&B basis with sea view. We have stayed in other four star hotels in Funchal over the last few years so this is our review based on our experiences. Check in was quick and easy at 2pm and the male hotel receptionist... More

For the price it charges, you can't ask for much more! Rooms are huge, we even had 2 balconies. Rooms are very clean, personel very friendly. Breakfast is good and served on a very nice patio overlooking the sea. Perfect location to start exploring this beautiful island! Funchal is max 20 min on food, very pleasant walk. All in all... Hotel in good location. clean. Gym , if you can call it that has few apparatus. Needs to invest in some new towels, very thin and worn. Room cleaned everyday and fresh towels left. Good selection for buffet breakfast. Of the two barmen who worked there one was good the other not so, he never had any change or said... More

i was told if we had a room at the back of the hotel it would have to be higher than the 6th floor because of traffic and barking dogs, we were on the 10th floor and they still annoyed us, rooms were cleaned every day and bedding changed, beds very firm, reception staff ignorant, having a cuppa on the balcony... Nice hotel, in good location. We had room on 8th floor with sea view which was lovely. Bathroom was modern with good shower, towels not great, but bedding was good quality. Rooms were cleaned every day, however bedding was not changed during week stay. Beds are very firm! Breakfast was fine, and it was nice to sit outside looking out... More

We had a sea view room and enjoyed many a balmy evening sitting out on the balcony enjoying a cool drink and admiring the beautiful scenery. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and we had daily cleaning services. The hotel staff were warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Good variety at breakfast and catered for all needs. All in all an enjoyable... More

Clean and friendly, good breakfast, lovely pool. Beds uncomfortable could feel all the springs They definitely need to invest in some new towels, the larger were thread bare, totally worn out. This towel was also for the swimming pool totally inadequate, luckily I took one with me , but don't expect to do this in a 4 star Didn't really... More

Very clean room, small balcony but great sea view. Maid service every day. Despite what others have said we found all the staff friendly and helpful, especially the old dears at reception. Breakfast was geared for the europeans however plenty to get a start in the morning. It was very warm during our stay however always plenty of beds at... More

We stayed here for a week late April 2014, and the rooms are nice & clean. The breakfast is fine, although fresh fruit juices and a better selection of fruit to demonstrate the great produce of Madeira would have been nice. A small misunderstanding with the chambermaid and €13 left on the sink was swiftly and professionally handled. The pool... More
