My wife and I stayed in July 2008 at the Hotel Alto Lido by way of an exchange through RCI with our Cabo timeshare. We were put in an old, tired room, "where all RCI guests are housed". Dirty rug. I got a room with AC @ 60 euro/night. Some rooms have AC and cost a little more than the other rooms. The other rooms have a kitchenette and no AC. Although the hotel has 4 stars it's not a fancy place, but the staff is friendly. The hotel is located about 1 hour walk from the center of Funchal.... more
