We stayed here for six nights (should have been seven but we'd been diverted overnight to Gran Canaria because of high winds). The room was generously proportioned and had a good sized balcony with a sea view. The corridors too are spacious. Wifi is available in reception and the bar area, and parts of the restaurant. The staff are friendly... More

Like most hotels in Madeira, it is very outdated. A lot of marble. It is however comfortable and friendly. We were lucky to have a beautiful view of the sea. The Wi-Fi is rather a disappointment as it is only in the cocktail lounge or in the reception area, nothing in the rooms. The breakfast is a rather large selection... More

Well located hotel in Funchal, good service, very clean, well furnished, located close to the cost of Atlantic Ocean, with Sea View Rooms. Perfect vacations, well recommended to everyone! 4 star hotel, good meals, close to the city center and to all facilities (Ocean, Beach, Shops, Restaurants, etc)

I really can't add anything to last years review which I have copied below, tho you can walk into Funchal centre in 30 minutes as opposed to 40 min, as you don't stop off as often at the sights or shops as you make the journey the second time round - "Top floor, sea view, large room, excellent, was B&B... We were lucky to get a room with a balcony with a sea view and I can tell you that it was well worth the extra money. Waking up to that view every morning never got boring! The room was cleaned and well equipped with more TV channels than you usually get in hotel rooms abroad. The maids were so... More

Old decoration, with worn carpets on the hall. Breakfast: short variety of products, and low quality. Expensive price for dinner, with less money you can eat around the hotel typical food. The only positive thing, was the view and location.

The hotel is 20 minutes away from Funchal airport by private taxi transfer. It is located on the outskirts of Funchal (approx. 2.5Km) and close to the Madeira Forum shopping centre. The hotel offers a free courtesy bus into the main area of Funchal 4 times per day (9:10, 11:10, 15:10 & 17:40) which drops off near the marina. It... More

I would rate this as between 'average' and 'very good', i.e. 3.5 dots, but that is not possible. It seems to be on the way down, as the sports facilities that you expect in a 4 star were not available, or at least, not advertised. I have seen several hotels abroad that claimed to be a star above what they... More

This hotel was rated four stars, so I expected a good experience. Truth was, it was three-star level at best. The room safes had no locks and therefore were worthless. The room thermostat was locked to prevent you from raising or lowering the temperature. There was one electrical outlet for the entire room, which is inexcusable in the era of... More
