Perhaps this needs an explanation. Within the hotel on one of the lower floors is a car museum! It is described as being a Vintage Car Museum but the only vintage car was an Austin 6 with the remainder being best described as classic cars containing among other vehicles a Ford Cortina. There is also a large exhibition of model... More

This hotel has everything but lacked any sort of buzz. No atmosphere. Décor was very dated. This is certainly not 5 Star. Nice pool area. Do not drink or eat at the hotel the prices are way too high. If you want a lunchtime snack take the lift at the back of the ground and go to the Yacht Bar... More

We stayed here for one night on the 20th Oct 2014 due to the fact that flights were cancelled due to bad weather at Airport. This was arranged by Tour Operator. I am happy to say that I did not book this hotel and if I had one night would have been to much. We were allocated a suite which... More

Our 1 bedroom sleeps 4 unit (#518) was on the 5th floor with two balconies - one looking over the sea and the other looking west over the pool. The apartment was nicely presented and generally very clean other than the carpet which needed a good wash in places. It would have been a tad cramped for four people though.... More

Could not fault this hotel, clean large rooms. 2 lovely outdoor pools and one indoors, spa and gym facilitues. Would definitely recommend the massage lady. Truly amazing massage. Breakfast ok, plenty of choice. Snacks and drinks a bit pricey but plenty of places nearby cheaper. Only let down is distance from town, a good hour walk if your fit as... More

Our stay at Madeira Regency Palace was above and beyond our expectations. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our accommodation was superb, the facilities were spot on and the food in the main hotel and surrounding area were reasonably priced and of good quality too.

another visit to this hotel. everywhere still more than a little tired but is being turned round. we have towels now that are not threadbare and a new flat screen tv which is useless to us brits as there are no English programmes. personally I wish they would remove all televisions from rooms as it's nice to have a break... We stayed here for a week as a last minute booking and were very pleased with the hotel overall. Best bits: Reception team - wonderful. Helpful, smiley, polite, patient, smart and did their jobs very well. Wish other places were as good! Room size - two large rooms, with kitchenette, sofa, tables, balconies (with table & chairs), light and bright... More

This is a Hotel and apartment building and is classed a 5* My wife and I were very pleased with our room which was classed as a "Garden View" but could also have been called a sea view, as we could see both from our balcony. The room was large and clean and had all we needed. The breakfasts were... More

Stayed here for one week. Room was clean with fridge and cooking facilities. Daily maid service very good. Free courtesy bus to Funchal. Beachside bar/food very good and reasonably priced. Restaurant well appointed but buffet priced at 32.50 euros was poor value and average quality.
