We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Took the Aerobus from Funchal Airport and back which stops at the top of the road for €5 per person E/W. The location of the hotel is excellent for local transport and a 10 minute walk into the centre of Funchal. The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are... more

The hotel is located next door to a pub, and just up the road from a casino. They are located on a secondary road but people use it as a parking alley for the casino. I believe if you get a room without a view that the hotel would be perfect for your stay. But if you do get a... more

My wife and I have just got back from a very pleasant week at the Aparthotel Imperatriz. The booking was a fairly "last minute" affair as we both managed to get the same week off work, and thus the budget was quite tight. We Hired a car at the Airport for the week and drove the 18Kms to Funchal. We... more

Staff are friendly, location is very good. Parking in their underground car park is a nightmare & is impossible on the streets. The hotel was exceptionally clean but the bedrooms & bathrooms although large are in serious need of a revamp. Breakfast was very basic. Coffee and hot milk from thermos flasks and a choice of rolls or rolls (... more

Hotel is in a great location, very good value considering the average cost for Madeira holidays.. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Kitchenette facilities are very basic, so not ideal to make a full meal! The only thing to be warned about is that if you take the Half Board option, the restaurant is not owned by the Hotel, so... more

We booked this hotel through Venere.com. Its one of the few in Funchal not a 5 or 4 star so it was very reasonable and for the price we paid it was great value.Apparently its one of Funchal's oldest and you could see this in the decor which was a bit shabby in places. Our room was clean, spacious enough... more

I asked for a quiet room, so they put me round the side by the late night disco! The smell from the drains in the bathroom was so bad that I had to keep the bathroom door closed so the smell did not spread to the bedroom. In the morning the smell was even worse, so I had to hold... more

I can really recommend this small hotel! It is perfectly situated close to the city center and the marina -and at the street of the hotel, you find some of the best restaurants in Funchal. The rooms are simple but clean, and large enough for three adults (I stayed there with my aunt and uncle). However, don't waste your money... more

Good location quite close to historical downtown. 4 floors with elevators. Nice view to the sea from the balcony. Cooking facilities were ok. Rooftop sun terrace with pool. Billiard table. Peaceful atmosphere. more
