Reid's Palace is a sophisicated high-end hotel experience, with very attentive and caring service, magnificant ocean views, top restaurants and a beautiful pool area and other sports amenities. It is a very relaxing venue. It's French and Italian restaurants are world class. The rooms are well-appointed, convenient, and very roomy. In our many travels in and around the Iberian Peninsula,... more

On top of the cliff overlooking the bay and the town of funchal with 10acres of gardens superbly maintained gardens. The staff are well trained and give the most proffessional service in an informal yet efficient way. My wife was ill for two days and we simply enjoyed the experience that "staying at Reid's" can provide. Unqualified recomenation. more

We stayed at Reid's for seven nights and found it utterly wonderful. On arrival, we had received an upgrade to a room with french doors that opened onto the idyllic gardens. The room was on the small side but perfectly formed. There was no need to spend much time there, anyway - I have never been in a hotel with... more

Perched on a cliff top looking across to the port of Funchal this pink Palace of a hotel offers everything a great hotel should be expected to provide - great views, a beautiful and well tended garden, two excellent swimming pools, access to the sea, plenty of space for sunbathers, good service, a high standard of cleanliness, and one of... more

This world famous hotel is without doubt an absolute gem in the beautiful setting of Madeira, with some outstanding views of the amphitheatre of Funchal and its deep water harbour. The levels of friendly and professional service provided by all staff were again first class and needless to say fully met and on occasions exceeded our expectations. The quality and... more

The service starts the moment you get out of the taxi, Porters pick up your bags take you to reception to check in. We checked in two hours early without any fuss. When the paper work was done the receptionist (who's name I wish I could remember) gave us a guided tour of the Hotel & made us aware of... more

Reid's Palace has to be one of the finest hotel experiences. The location and setting are unique - with clifftop views over the sea - and the food and service are superb. There is plenty to do - from the great pool, spa and tennis courts to the evening snooker matches to the nearby golf - or for those days... more

After spending our honeymoon in Maderia, we always said we would return for our 25th. Choosing Reid's Palace for this occasion exceeded all of our expectations, the service was impecable, the food was first class and overall the presentation of the hotel and gardens was exceptional. The extras which we were given (upgrade of room, wine, flowers and champagne, etc)... more

Although we are lucky enough to live in Madeira, we take our holidays here at Reid's. Once you are inside it's like going to another planet. Eveything is perfect and there is no need to go out of the hotel for anything. The views and gardens are magnificent, and the rooms and service impeccable. It really is one of the... more

I visited for the 6 th or 7th time earlier this year in February. When you arrive at the reception desk the staff say welcome home --. This opitimizes the strengths the hotel has.-Service.!! I think the food has definately improved in the recent year. As per usual the service from the spa to the restaurants to the room service... more
