Beautiful newly refurbished villa as of March 2008 in the old town of Funchal set amongst local residence on a quiet street. Beautifully renovated villa consisting of 3 apartments (2 beds,1,1) with original tile and wood flooring, large room sizes, all mod cons (including cooker, cable tv, flat screen tv, dvd player, wireless internet, shared washing machine etc). We stayed in Garden cottage (cheapest) which was lovely and had a massive bathroom with an amazing 2 person shower. Cristina (the owner) arrives to show you the apartment with a welcome cake and beverages then personally drove us into town to show us around and take us to the supermarket. She also provides info. on local restaurants and attractions with her amazing 2 books on Madeira. Large swimming pool for size of property with beautiful views over Funchal with plenty of deck chairs, hammocks and BBQs for each apartment.
