I am writing this review from my bedroom at The Vine. I have read lots of other reviews and I can understand how some reviewers find the hotel quirky. The location is perfect - very central Funchal. Yes, it's on top of a shopping centre but this only adds to the location in my view. The rooms are different to... More

The hotel is in a Shopping, but you don't fell any noise and confusion. Has a great swimming pool at the roof top, restaurant and you can see the sea. just amazing! Great friendly staff and speak impeccable english. Drawbacks: It's a design hotel, and the floor in some places have this rocks that make very noise with luggage passing... More

Stayed here for 5 nights - in a deluxe room. The rooms are full of gadgets which means it is not always pactical but great staying somewhere so modern.Toilet door a bit of a problem as its glass and doesnt close properly. Hotel staff were very friendly but there was no real system at breakfast time so it was a... More

So many weird things about this hotel. No place to hang your towel. Or your robe. Or your toiletries. Toilet paper not on a ring mounted to the wall, but almost sitting on the floor. No door handles on the inside of the bathroom or the shower, so doors don't close completely. The silver almost heavy in the hand and... More

The Vine is located above a shopping centre, which takes a bit of getting used to, but good if you need the supermarket. We checked in very quickly and we were shown to our room by Luis, he also explained how the various gadgets worked and other things that you needed to know. He was always helpful throughout the holiday.... More

This Hotel was great but in a lot of cases the "design"of the place replaced the functionality, the cutlery was so well designed it was difficult to use, the wardrobe doors were so well designed that it was difficult to open them, the bath was in the middle of the bedroom with a see-through smoked glass panel so anyone sharing the... Designer hotels are like marmite - you either love them or hate them. Despite the fact that the staff were delightful and the hotel ideally situated for seeing the town, the Vine unfortunately fell in the latter category for us. We upgraded to a deluxe sea view room on the top floor and although the room gave an initial impression... More

The Divine is a beautifull designhotel located at the top od Dolce Vita shoppingcentre in centre of Funchal. The reception area, breakfast room and all premises are very nice design so are the rooms. We had a fantastic room overlooking the harbour and with a large bathtub at the end of the room. The service is very good and personal... More

We stayed (me, my wife, our 3 mths old baby) over Easter for 5 nights, holidays. LOCATION: Just a stone throw away from Funchal's city centre with historic buildings, nice cafes and restaurants. It is NOT in the so-called 'hotel quarter' with it's tourist trap restaurants. Hence perfect. We had from our room (south corner on the highest floor) view... More
