Just returned to the UK after staying at the Hotel do Carmo, never again, the pool was dirty (black tide mark around the pool) breakfast poor, no air conditioning, beds very uncomfortable and EXTREMELY NOISY, could not lock balcony doors, and the corridors smelt musty with badly stained carpets, more like a Youth Hostel than a 3 star hotel. more

We rent 14 rooms for our group of friends (most more of 50´s) in this hotel for the last day of the year 2007 party. We choose this hotel to be "in the center" of the city and of all activities, and because some friends tolds us this was the best place to see the artifice fire and yes it... more

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights on a B&B board. Absolutely delighted. Lovely staff, so polite and so helpful. Walking distance to the Marina. Supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Overall brilliant location which made way for a lovely holiday in Madeira. Will definitely visit this hotel again. Thank you. Mrs J Fernandes, United Kingdom more
