We stayed at Quinta Das Torres which is a beautiful country estate located in a wine growing community about 30 minutes South of Lisbon. We arrived in the late afternoon for the last two nights in Portugal. The entire estate is covered in vines, which in October turn into gorgeous fall colors. We were surprised to find that somehow we had book a suite for 126 Euro. The suites are actually the tower rooms in each corner of the estate. The Tower rooms are two stories with a loft for extra sleeping areas in between the two levels. The upstairs consisted of twin beds, antique furniture and three floor to ceiling windows that open to views of the estate. The upstairs also has a massive terrace that was for our private use. There is no upstairs bathroom. Downstairs contains a large bathroom and a living room decorated with antiques complete with dining room table. The room was a bit musty upon arrival but after opening the windows it quickly dissapated. This is to be expected... more
